All you idiots falling for this old man hype are idiots. I give him credit to be beating the Shumenovs of the world at his age. This IS truly incredible, but old man hasn't been near the top of the division in years and bum as Dawson proved that already.
Oh ya, and before I go leave this forum again, cause it sucks. All you can suck my big fat juicy uncircumcised paraphimosissed cock. Faggots.
Hopkins is the best fighter Kovalev has ever fought. Not sure I can say the same thing about Kovalev though. I'll put it this way, there is a reason why Hopkins was eager to make this fight, he already sees weakness he can exploit.
But what if its the same weakness he saw in Dawson? We'll all find out how this one plays out tomorrow, nobody can see the future. Its a good win for which ever one pulls it off though.
I'm sure if Hopkins happen to win on Saturday some people will try and make the case that Kovalev wasn't a good fighter either.
I mean, are you actually going to argue that Cloud, Murat, and Shumenov are good fighters?
Campillo is a good win for Kovalev, particularly the manner in which he did it.
Campillo is probably the single most shafted fighter in recent years, with the judges fucking him on at least two occasions (Cloud and Shumenov), and arguably doing so in the Murat fight as well.
So unless you're the sort of 'fan' who doesn't rate any fighter who hasn't been P4P listed or doesn't have 3/4 threads about them on NSB every week, then Kovalev blowing out Campillo is evidence of his quality as a fighter.
Overall though, I would agree that his resume isn't hugely impressive. Campillo was a good fighter, Cleverly and White are pretty solid fighters too, but there isn't an awful lot else.
Hopkins' hasn't done much lately, but he still beat Murat, Shumenov, and Cloud convincingly which isn't far short of Kovalev's own recent record. The only real difference is that Kovalev destroys opponents whereas B-Hop outhustles them.
But that's the nature of this fight, it's potentially a torch passing fight and the guy stepping up is always going to be somewhat unproven. It's a test for Kovalev. If he wins, he's the new king at light heavyweight. If he loses, he goes back to the pack and his career looks very different.
Sadly, Craparello hasn't fought anyone HALF as good as Cloud or Shumenov, and when he did-he got his rump roasted.
Shumenov hasn't beaten anyone, and Cloud is awful. Caparello is on their level.
And forget Caparello, he's the worst fighter Kovalev's fought lately. You also have Campillo, Cleverly, Sillakh, and Agnew.
Agnew is better than Hopkins
That's why Hopkins won't last 7 rounds like Agnew did......
And that's good for kova because he's never been past 8 rounds and he looked dehydrated at the presser
TS is right. Everyone keeps pretending Kovalev hasn't fought anyone when he's beaten better opponents in the last 3 years than Hopkins, or arguably even Stevenson has. Cloud, Murat, and Shumenov are not good fighters, and all three got their asses kicked by fighters that Kovalev beat. Pascal is the last time Hopkins beat anyone good. That was a while ago.
Kovalev is arguably the most dangerous fight Hopkins has taken since Calzaghe. He'll deserve a lot of credit if he beats this guy.
Calzaghe is a lot of things, but probably the last when it comes to being "dangerous"....sure, he will outwork you with slaps, but dangerous-hell no.
He's probably as good as Cloud or Shumenov are. Maybe better than both.

So you saying that austrailian cab driving bum caparello who dropped kova-rated is a good fighter? :bottle::bottle:

and kovalev has ? ok idiot lol
Last good fighter Hopkins beat was Pascal and he hasn't looked all that impressive since then. I understand, it's amazing what he can do at his age but with his incredible discipline, he still has a lot of experience and far more fundamentally sound than most fighters today, it's like he's suppose to beat the Cloud, Murat and Shumenov's of the world.
In case Kovalev will look too dangerous, Hopkins might cut him early in the fight and use excessive clinching tactics (which they call "smothering")... If Hopkins fights "clean" he has no hope in this one...
What's to be gained from debates likes this THE DAY BEFORE THE FIGHT? We will know soon enough if Hopkins is still a good fighter or not and if Kovalev is overrated or not.
Resumes don't fight in the ring, fighters do.
So he lost to Dawson, now what, a old man is not allowed to lose from time to time? He beat Pascal, Pavlik, Cloud, Shumenov, Murat, in between his last two losses from 2008-Present. You're acting like Kovalev didn't just get knocked down by Blake "6 KO's" Caparello. Cedric Agnew was predicted to get blown away in 2-3 rounds but instead made it to 7 rounds and exposed some flaws of Kovalev that Hopkins will exploit even more.
Shumenov/Murat>Caparello/Agnew.
Dude is old as f*ck fighting better opponents than the rest of the LHW's.
On top of being ducked by Adonis Stevenson who's holding the lineal title hostage. So he's taking the equally good fight, against an equally if not more dangerous opponent.
No one should be saying sh1t about Hopkins. Dudes legit.

Craparello and not so cleverly couldn't even beat cloud or shumenov imo...and the guys you mentioned together with sergey don't have a resume that comes halfway close to Bernard s.
Cleverly would have easily beaten Shumenov or Cloud. Not that it is saying much since they both suck.
Why do you list ggg as 3 weight reigning when he is not ballsy enough to move out of the dead weight division he is choosing to be in??? Apparently these days fighters dont need to earn their way ....
The only 168 lber keen on facing GGG is Ward, who also happens to not be even close to being ready for it.
