I really believe Thurman will be unstoppable from welter till the day he goes middleweight.. MAYWEATHER HAS BEEN THE PRESENT. No doubt, but I have been thinking of how mayweather should go out. EVERyone knows his contract ends after his 49th fight. So Khan who is big and can help carry the gate in the U.K. could most possibly be the next opponent...
Leaving Pacman for last... or so you think.... I believe he will want that 50th win, to leave no doubt.... to break Marciano's record!!! That being said, who is the 3rd fighter to face Mayweather????
I dont see many fighters at 140, 147, 154 giving Thurman real problems. Maybe for the next 4 to 5 years. Pacman is almost done, Danny is too small for him, Cotto is too old and worn. Thurman has a clear road of dominance in his future unless he "ortiz's" it. Now Keith should be getting those big card exposure fights. He is the Future. He is the heir!!!
So IF MAYWEATHER WANTED, he could go out with a bang. Fighting the next dominator and heir to his own throne. How G.O.A.T. can you be... going out 50-0 and with that last fight beat the young Prince before he goes on to rule the division, and possibly the pound for pound rankings of the next 5 to 6 years.
"will be unstoppable".
You really can't, actually. There weren't any talks of a potential matchup between the two and when you think about it, a fight with Devon Alexander (a top 10 fighter) is equally risky. If Thurman fought Roberto Garcia, then people would be saying he was ducking Devon. Besides, that match would be pointless anyway, as it wouldn't do anything for their careers.
Guerrero pulled out of the fight and Porter's dad said that there weren't enough money in the fight. I won't say Porter is ducking but Guerrero certainly is and even when he's asked about it, he never sounds like he wants the fight ("Keith Urban? I'm gonna see his concert." *stutters on his "answer" after that*). If nobody is ducking Thurman, then I'm sure a lot of the big names would try to prove it and yet, hardly any of them do. All this does is just add the claim that he's being ducked. If they don't want to do that, then they need to just fight him already. He's already said he's not afraid to let go of his 0. Heck, he's almost daring the other boxers to fight him.
It is not because the other top fighters are avoiding Keith Thurman. Its simply the fact Al Haymon is not putting his name fighters against one another. He hasn't done it all year and he isn't starting with Keith. Keith Thurman even went on twitter and said he wasn't thrilled about fighting a Roberto Garcia. Fight was offered to him and he turned it down. That is a FACT. So if he himself is turning down fights he can't really claim other fighters are ducking him. You could say nobody wants it with Guerrero, Broner, Danny G, etc because Haymon just flat out is not matching any of them with competition.
The hype is getting out of hand. I could see him ending up like Broner when he stepped up in the competition. As much as I would like to join the hype train, I'd have to see him first with someone a tad better than Karass and Chaves. The Chaves fight in particular planted the seed of doubt in me. Had Chaves fought more aggressively in that fight he could have brought a lot of problems on One Time.
Everyone is waiting to see Thurman fight against better competition but how can he when they don't want to fight him? Until then, we can't just completely forget about the dude. If he truly has too much hype, then at least ONE of the top guys should prove it.
I hope the Thurman vs. Alexander fight is true and if he does win, people should finally give him the credit he deserves.

you know whats so funny you actually believe I think this cause of Maidana is on my sig and avy lol. NO I think this cause its the truth.
But it's not true and it's very silly to think it is. Maidana's resume as a welterweight really isn't all that impressive itself and he's yet to even beat an A-level opponent. Plus, he just came off two losses this year so Thurman shouldn't have to keep going in other directions just to get a fight with somebody like Maidana.
lol he hasnt even beat anyone in the top 20, hell the top 30 lmfao. No he doesnt deserve a shot and no he hasnt earned a shot. Beat a top 30 guy, then beat a top 20 guy then put your self into a realistic position to get a shot at the top 10 guys, or hold your breath for the mayweather bout since your his mando.
I would love Maidana to **** his **** up but Maidana onto money fights cause he put that work in and put himself on that level to reap the benefits, thurman hasnt done a lick to deserve or even force any of the names he calling out to even take him seriously for a bout. He beat up soto karass lol so what who hasnt.
Lmfao Chaves and Karass are/were both top 15. Chaves is probably a better win than anything on Maidana's resume, pretty embarrassing considering how long Maidana has been around for and how many opportunities he's had. Maidana's best wins are Karass and a blown up lightweight :lol1:
I understand you dislike Thurman because your idol ducked him, but your obsession with him is becoming quite worrying and disturbing.
I think I'd favor Keith against Maidana. And hell he may even be a 50/50 shot against Marquez, with JMM being close to senior citizen status and all.
Hard to see him beating Bradley, though.
he has done absolutely nothing to earn those fights, lol hell he doesn't even deserve a D.Garcia shot yet, let him go fight josesito lopez, porter, malligi, judah, alexander, khan, abregu, chaves, berto somebody anybody lol.
lol since when do you have to earn a shot against a glorified journeyman like Maidana?
:dunce:s like you keep saying he hasn't beat no one and then say he doesn't deserve a shot at anyone in the top 10.
The fear is real :lol1:
Thurman has some serious potential, but his signature wins are against a 9 loss Julio Diaz, a 10 loss Soto Karass, and a virtually unknown and unproven Diego Chaves.
I'll have to wait for a little bit more than that before jumping on the he's the future bandwagon.
Yeah, like Algieri has way better credentials. ..., didnt robert guerrero talk his way into a welterweight championship fight vs may??? HE SURE AS **** NEVER EARNED IT.....
Devon can only sell in st. Louis.... Maidana would be one of the biggest challenges but hes been too busy fighting floyd himself.
Considering how bad his defence is it's likely he either gets stopped eventually or so worn down that he can't take punches. People ignore how he often gets cleanly hit and throws wild punches. Let him fight a top guy and then we'll see. Particularly someone who can hit hard.
Thurman's defense has improved and whenever he does get hit, it's hardly by anything of significance. That's why in the Soto Karass fight, despite his "bad" defense, he only got caught just once and in the Diaz fight, he wasn't caught at all.
I think people are really underrating Thurman. How can you have both a "bad defense" and "suspect chin" and STILL last this long without being KO'd? It just shows that maybe those things really aren't the problem like people keep claiming.

I'd like to see Thurman fight Maidana, it would be a great match and finally end the "Maidana ducked Thurman" talk.

feed him to canelo...
Semantics. This implies that Thurman at some point in time, will be "unstoppable". At no point in time will that ever be true. He will be stopped. And it will be absolutely brutal.
I guess you already forgot what you quoted:
I really believe Thurman will be unstoppable
Nobody ever said it was true, he was just saying how he personally felt. You're making something out of nothing here.
thats all fine and dandy but can we see him fight someone decent first? everyone says people are ducking him but honestly u hardly hear him call anyone out. The guy needs to fight someone im tired of the boogie men being guys who have fought no one. remember porter?
Well, I'm tired of the whole "he ain't fought nobody" nonsense myself so a fight with a decent opponent should do well for both sides. This is why I want Thurman to fight against either Devon or Khan next.
I remember when Thurman was pumping himself as the most feared fighter, talking about how great he was, while constantly calling out Paulie Malignaggi.
Dude is a fake tough guy, I got a lot of respect for his win vs Chavez, but that's all he really has IMO. He has a lot of competition in his division and isn't fighting any of it.
And lmao at ppl believing guys are scared of him. The entire division is more accomplished than he is. And this is coming from someone who thinks Thurman MIGHT be able to do big things, but right now, he's not...
Which is because NOBODY has given him a chance to. You guys have to look at it deeper than that. If nobody was ducking Thurman, they would have fought him a long time ago.
Here you go...
"will be unstoppable".
Roberto Garcia called Thurman out and you could make the case One Time DUCKED him! Garcia is coming off his 3rd straight FNF headlining win with a good chin, punching power and a pressure style. Thurman likely thought that to be too risky a fight. This myth that nobody wants to fight Thurman is simply not true. Al Haymon is the reason Keith is not getting meaningful fights. Plenty of fighters are willing to step in with Thurman. I do believe he is good and could potentially become the top dog but he won't get there at the rate he is going. He should have had an Alexander, Guerrero or Porter fight by now but Haymon is not setting those matches up for whatever reason. Chances are by the time Thurman does get those fights to line himself up for Mayweather, Floyd's Showtime contract will be fulfilled. I do agree Thurman would benefit by getting out of his Haymon deal, signing with Oscars Golden Boy and going to HBO.
