Add fuel to the fire of the probable Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao super fight in 2015: Jeff Mayweather, uncle of the undefeated American fighter has recently declared that it’s either British boxer Amir Khan or Filipino pugilist Pacquiao for his nephew’s next big fight.
The elder Mayweather admitted that nothing is final but a possible bout against Khan or Pacquiao because there are no other options especially if the Mayweather camp will consider the projected pay-per-view (PPV) revenue.
“To be honest, I can’t really say who it is because I’m not one hundred percent sure. If they do it by names — which Floyd normally does — it may actually help the pay–per-view revenue, it’s gonna possibly be Khan or maybe Pacquiao next for Floyd, because there’s no other options out there in the weight class that make any sense,” Jeff Mayweather told Robert Brown of **********boxing.com, a popular boxing website.
Mayweather added that Pacquiao has to win his next fight for Mayweather vs. Pacquiao to become a reality. Pacquiao is set to fight unheralded and unknown Chris Algieri in Macau on Nov. 22. Algieri is also an undefeated American with a record of 20-0-0 with 8 knockouts.
Mayweather Jr. meanwhile is coming off a win against Marcos Maidana albeit in a unconvincing and non-entertaining 12-round unanimous decision victory.
Nicknamed “Jazzy Jeff” during his boxing heydays, the 50-year-old Mayweather had a record of 32–10–5 (10 KOs) in his career highlighted by winning the International Boxing Organization (IBO) junior lightweight title in April 1994. Jeff became a fight coach both for boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) post-boxing career.
The discussion of the probable Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight has been discussed for years but no final agreement has been reached ever since.
Bob Arum, the president of Top Rank Promotions, which handles Pacquiao has mentioned in recent reports that HBO Sports, where Pacquiao fights are aired and Showtime Boxing, where Mayweather’s bouts are covered have internal discussions on the probable Mayweather vs. Pacquiao super fight.
Jeff Mayweather’s speculation might be good for the boxing world as fight fans still have high hopes that the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight will happen sometime in 2015. However, as long as Floyd Mayweather Jr. continue to run away from what could be the biggest fight in the history of the sport, the dream fight between the top pound-for-pound boxers today will remain a pipe dream.

Why do these lazy bloggers continue to interview Jeff Mayweather, as if he has some inside knowledge about Floyd or Floyd's plans? He may be Floyd's uncle, but Jeff Mayweather doesn't know anymore about Floyd than the people posting on this message board. All he did in this blog post was to state what has been stated on this message board at least 100 times.
If I'm Floyd I pick Manny. Manny will find another bogus reason to refuse the fight, his fans will cosign it, and then khan will get the fight anyway.
Then Manny fans will blame Floyd by posting "picking a guy to fight equals ducking".
I say he should pick manny, because if he flatlines in the middle of the fight, better an old warhorse like himself than a young dude. It would look like srl vs. Norris then

Well if those are really the choices we all know Khan gets the shot. I actually think Khan has a way better shot than people give him. I was pulling for Khan when Mayweather let us pick him to fight last time. Khan deserves the fight just as much as The Ghost, Maidana, Mosely, Cotto, etc. No way he fights Pac.
The Mayweather-Pacquiao fight is not probable at all in my opinion and I sure hope Mayweather doesn't fight Khan until Khan beats one of the 5 or 6 best welterweights in the world but that's up to him. Jeff sure had a mediocre career as a pro boxer. It looks like Floyd Jr. is the only Mayweather who was and is an outstanding pro boxer. Floyd should fight a good 154 fighter for those 154 pound titles he owns but never defends or he should step down and let the top 154 fighters have a chance to be the champion.
Khan doesn't deserve it and Floyd won't fight Manny. Why throw out two names anyways if they don't mean it? Does it mean we a stuck with Khan? Load of....
If a limited, cement shoe'd, brawler scores an upset within now and January best believe that person will steal and seal a fight with May, in May 15'. That his been his formula for about 5+ years.
And yes, I'm also including Canelo in this. Canelo has not (and was not) developed into the type of boxer stylistically that poses any threat to Mayweather.
no prime veterans left for floyd anymore
i rather see the pac fight first(should he get past algieri) before they both go further south
winner can beat up khan after khan has beat a thurman or brook
LOL at the worried Floyd boys who dont want Floyd to fight Khan yet were all for him fighting Guerrero, Ortiz, Maidana. Deep down inside they know that Khan has something that can give Floyd fits. Especially after Floyd's last 2 performances.
Khan needs a tune-up or erase one of his losses to Danny Garcia or Lamont Peterson. I say Khan fights Josesito Lopez then take on Mayweather and have Danny Garcia rematch Herrera and Thurman fight Alexander. Then do Thurman vs. Garcia as the co-feature for Mayweather vs. Khan and fight the winner of Thurman vs. Garcia in September 2015. Then in 2016, watch HBO throw stupid money for Mayweather vs. Pacquiao I & II.
