No disrespect to Dan RIP. Some people were asking about this on the other thread so I thought it might be appropriate to pose the question in a thread devoted to that issue, any ideas?
The beef was mainly between Dan and Andre. Those left in charge of the company will come together and work something out with him.
We'll see Ward in the ring again soon.

Yeah it too do with his friend Leonard not being part of the promotional contract. Hopefully Goosen Tutor can work out something with Ward, and Ward can finally fight.
people would have paid their condolences to goossen on the appropriate article. Dont see what the problem is if you wana talk about Ward on here. How long should one wait? 2 days? 2 weeks? 2 months? People just love to be offended by everything and love jumping on their high horse as quick as they can. They probably dont feel anything for Goossen but just want the opportunity to use his passing away as a way of putting other posters down. Thats even more sad.
Statement from Ward:
"I was deeply saddened to learn the news of Dan Goossen's passing early this morning. My thoughts and prayers have been with Dan and his family since I received the news of his illness last week. While Dan and I recently had our professional struggles, he was a great man, father and husband. He will be greatly missed by the boxing community. I will continue to keep the Goossen family in my prayers."
its a contract, it doesnt ripped up just because the man just died. :duh:
Well.....There is a possability that without Dan the company will not be able to perform....It is a very real possability actually. If Ward is particularly "determined" for lack of a better term he could even argue impossibilty of performance because the promotional activities of the group were based on Gossen's name, talents and actions.
lets say you buy a Steinway paino, and Steinway is still around....He dies before completing the paino and the business says it will still deliver a steinway paino, can they? Can you say its not a steinway under the conditions?
A lot depends on what the contract actually says I would imagine.

I hope I am not insulting some of our more sensative members when I say "I hope so."
If so let me offer :bottle: and maybe we can all have a cry, watch sad movies and talk about how men are incouragable?
A coupla things:
There is nothing disrespectful about asking this question!!! in fact it is like that elephant in the middle of the room, so why censor that conversation? Ridiculous and even people like New England who should know better are saying this crap?
One of the problems is precisely what some of you have alluded to....this was partially personal meaning that things may well change. It all depends on the ability of the company to function....Goosen was one of the Keys, which is actually an insurance term, it means that his value was such that the very business may well depend upon it.
Obviously if the company is, as was, then things will continue with the dispute. Goosen's partner is another variable.
Goosen's untimely passing is a tragedy, his promotional company is a seperate legal entity...one that unfortunately depended a great deal on him. This will create a very curious scenerio regarding Ward.

Why is this the first thing you think of after the man's just died? I don't even think about Andre Ward at the best of times.
Why would it change anything? He's under contract to his promotional company.
The Big Goose will continue to pwn Ward from the beyond.
ahahaha he sure will
rip dan. You were a great promoter.
Legally he's under contract to the promotional company so the suit doesn't just vaporise, it'll depend on the attitude of whoever takes over the company, they may still want to see this through to the bitter end, they may decide settle it somehow and get it over with. I got the feeling the bad blood was between Ward and Goosen particularly.
****. This is sudden. I didn't even know Goosen had passed away.
I didn't know he was sick until yesterday. It's very sad to see one of the few (ostensibly) good promoters pass away.
I hope the **** with Ward can get hashed out, it's a shame it didn't happen while he was alive.
Deym, even in grave Ward is Fvck!!! :boxing:
That's not a good thing.
Contract Remains! Goossen Passing doesn't change anything as far as Contract goes. He is in a Contract, he needs to go out and fight until he is a damn Free Agents instead of sitting around. Be apparently he is willing to do that, the real problem now seems to be finding an opponent that HBO and fans will ACCEPT.
One of his sons likely Craig Goossen will take over I'm sure!
There's still a Tutor in Goosen-Tutor. From what I understand, Tutor is one wealthy individual.
He's a partner in one of the largest construction companies in the world.
