An observation a fellow boxing fan mentioned to me.
During the post fight interview with Mayweather, Showtime's Jim Gray asked Floyd about the possibility of a future fight with Manny Pacquiao. This was interesting because Pacquiao fights for rival network HBO and unless an agreement between the two Networks is in the works, Showtime has no reason or nothing to gain from mentioning an HBO fighter during their own broadcast.
Was this a sign that Showtime and HBO plan to work together and Showtime's Jim Gray was putting Mayweather on the spot?
Breaking! Mayweather signs 4 fight deal with Stars! Stars, the home of Boxing and Floyd Mayweather! Don't ask Floyd about Manny.
Lol... That made me chuckle.. I would green k you if I could...
its the same week that koncz visited mayweathers gym to say that arum is not part of the negotiation. but floyd is "not thinking about boxing" at that particular time. manny wants it. arum and floyd not too much.
This post began with so much potential. Then it turned into a fairy tale.
Im pretty sure Showtime has a huge interest in the Pacquiao fight. They want to cash in big on their contract which numbers have been disappointing other than the Canelo fight. Jim was probably told to ask him that question and put him on the spot
You read it, I just make some indefensible points. All can be verified. And there just arent any comebacks.:cop: You dont want Manny to accept demands and I wont accept any either  (put some paragraphs and shiii) its one paragraph cause its all the same subject, Regarding the hold-ups preventing fights.
I'm sure you make some excellent points. It's nothing personal, I just have a problem reading huge chunks of words that have no spaces and end up looking like monstrous paragraphs.
I guess you can compare my condition to Floyd. He can obviously read, but has difficulty reading out loud. In my case, my eyes get lost and my mind shuts off and I move on to the next message.
Pretty much everyone except Floyd himself and the majority of his fans want to see the fight. They're the only ones who think he has better options. Then again these are the same people that thought Guerrero and Ortiz were suitable opponents.
Actually Jim Rome called
Floyd on it and Floyd called out Manny, and thats when Arum came up with building a stadium for the fight and Manny/Arum declined Mayweather to fight Clottey in Cowboy STADIUM. Yep arum said they needed to build a stadium and then fought in a STADIUM that seats over 100k. Says something dont you think. Cowboy stadium was available but he chose to fight Clottey instead of a Floyd fight, in Cowboy stadium. :ugh:

No other reason they would use their air time to call openly call for a fight with a rival network's marquee fighter unless they have been actively pursuing the fight behind the scenes.

I hope to God you're right. Someone has to take control of sht and put their foot down with Floyd. If they are negotiating, I'd love to be a fly on the wall in their lawyers offices to see what demands they're putting on each other.
Arum has to step aside and just let Mayweather promote the fight, its that simple. Why people still trying to rationalize what needs to happen is pretty slow in the head at this point.
2010 - "Take da test!"
2012 - "No 50/50 split"
2014 - "No Arum"
When are you spazzers going to learn? :lol1:

Of course. Show wants a return on that investment. You really think they're looking forward to paying out another $35 million+ for a sparring match with Devon Alexander or Keith Thurman.

The only hold up is Floyd saying yes...what happened years ago is all you guys keep falling back on...let's look at the present, who wants the fight and who doesn't?
It's kind of stupid to put pressure on a known pu55y when they can't even make Haymon fighters fight each other. Showtime needs to clean up its acts first by making meaningful fights before touching on a fight people know will never happen.
So you admit you dont know what he means, but in another breath you claim it means he doesnt want the fight? Manny pac's promoter before Arum admitted HE wouldnt put Manny in the ring with Floyd because he thought Floyd woud "beat the daylights out of him" so I guess that meant Floyd didnt want the fight, Manny broke his contract with GB and went to arum when they proposed the fight between Manny and Floyd, Manny when he was with Arum refused PED testing to avoid Floyd. (if youre clean whats the problem), then Arum said he needed to build a stadium but fought Clottey in cowboy stadium the very next fight. Then Floyd just called him man 2 man to make the fight and Manny is on a video admitting he wanted more money to fight Floyd. But he would fight him for charity for nothing??? All of this is very incriminating for Manny, but its all TRUE. So it seems its Manny's side doing the dodging. And Roach, Ariza and many others in his camp say ARUM is at fault for this fight not happening. :ugh:
Sorry friend. But I will not read your response until you edit in some spaces or paragraphs. Thanks

Actually, Arum and Schaeffer were scheduled to meet Jerry Jones together to talk the big fight. For whatever reasons, Scheffer withdrew at the last minute. No explanation was given.
As for the stadium.. That 100k seat stadium was in Dallas. Floyd seems pretty adamant to fight in Nevada and only at the MGM Grand. As for a stadium being built? Sure. It's Las Vegas. They built the Pyramid, Eiffel Tower and the world's largest ferris wheel in a couple months. Setting up bleachers and port a potties for the biggest fight in history would be a piece of cake in comparison.
Seemed like Jim gray was trying to be the first person to really put Floyd on the spot when it comes to manny.. No doubt showtime was involved in the questioning as they seem to be trying their hardest to make this fight become a reality...
if that is true, it would make the floyd apologists really, really nervous. i see some of them are already trying to downplay that possible scenario.
what if floyd goes against sho's wishes to make the fight? that would be indefensible and would left the flowmos no room to breath when it comes to defending their god:D
I think people don't get what he means when he says that. Somehow (and not surprisingly) people have translated that to mean: I don't want to fight.
Yeah it's not surprising that people would interpret it that way. And actually, I agreed with Floyd on that point about the "Marquez problems" - I'm a JMM fan, but I've been waiting for Manny to outright beat Marquez for years so that this Floyd-Pac fight could be put into proper context. I wanted to see Pac figure out a smarter fighter before facing Floyd. That's just me being a greedy fan though because I couldn't possibly hold all fighters to that standard..but for a fight this epic, I would have like to see Pac reslve that JMM issue convincingly. I don't even care now I'm just glad the fight seems to be picking up steam again.
Even Arum's ridiculous new area/stadium talk is coming to fruition
I'm one of those people who don't get what he means when he says stuff like that and people are justified in thinking it means he doesn't want the fight.
Maidana has Amir Khan problems and Floyd made no mention of that when it came to fighting Maidana. Granted, people can argue that Maidana really did "win" that fight but Khan ended up getting the decision. But, Floyd also said Pacquiao has Timothy Bradley problems and we all know the story behind that too.
It's just him being a d*ck. I think at this point people will just run with anything.

Contrived or not, it was a much more open ended answer than something like "Pac still has Marquez problems" or something along those lines.
