Sadly my friend went to the Box Fan Expo in Vegas for Maidana Mayweather fight weekend and he said it was dead, empty, he went to the UFC fight expo before and said it was jam packed with barely any room to walk, at the box fan expo he said it was so empty probably only 100 to 200 people total.
Pretty sad man its a good concept but there aren't enough boxing fans in America to even show interest in such an event.
MMA fans are currently posting many "MMA is dying" threads and complaining about their sport.
Turns out Boxing fans are doing the same with their sport.
MMA shat on boxing last night. That was a horrible PPV. I think your friends would rather be watching this

Than the Bey-Vazquez "fight"
The Bey-Vazquez fight was a shit, yes, but neither I want to see that some guy smashes the other's head wih 2-3 hammer punches like some butcher...
I undestand that why MMA is more exciting for the most of the people --> they are blood thirty and want as much violence as possible. Sorry I don't want to diss MMA but this is how I see. I prefer to watch a sport which is more tactical, more smart than a sport when brutality rules. I'm actually surprised a bit that these people on this board who yell "running"- every time when a techical fighter, with good movement win without getting into a brawl - follow boxing instead of MMA. And also the ground battle is boring for me that's an other reason why I don't watch MMA + the whole sport has a glaidator fight image they want to be as macho and tough as they can and as brutal as they can and that's not my business, not my style so I follow boxing.
Boxing still does the ratings.
But long term, boxing is probably eating away at its own customer base. Having boxing on premium channels inevitably has that effect.

You can thank Floyd Mayweather cherry picken crying, avoiding fighters and Haymon crappy cards
Just sad. There was no buzz at all for the fight this weekend. Myself included in years past I would look forward to the big/ppv fights with so much anticipation the business side of the sport has really turned me off and those exciting fight nights don't come as much as they use to.

As someone who paid for the boxing ppv(the shame I know), I can't help but agree. It was a terrible event, the best fight being free(Molina vs Soto) on the Livestream app I used, and all the others either boring or mismatches. The Mayweather vs Maidana fight was terrible, I don't give a **** about how much you enjoyed seeing "tactical boxing" and "artistic footwork", it was boring as hell. Mayweather fought in an extremely negative fashion after getting clocked at the end of that one round, clinching and moving way too much. The referee also didn't help one bit in making the fight fair, one time separating them when they weren't even clinching, and didn't allow Maidana to fight even when he had one hand free.
This was the first time I bought a PPV(I usually see the big fights in bars, but I had a paper to write) and because of this I was kind of angry. It seems like a lot of people here just stream the fight for free so they don't care, but I didn't get my money's worth, so I was pretty pissed. Even worse, Mayweather mentioning "giving the fans what they want" annoyed me even more. Won't pay for another Mayweather ppv, that's for ****ing sure. I will always like Boxing more than MMA, but the sport has become a joke in recent years.

Crazy seeing Arlovski back in the UFC. Thought he had retired. Good on him getting a win, MMA has always had a paper thing HW division.
I see Arlovski as a reformed wildman who sometimes forgets he's reformed. When he first showed up in the UFC he was this crazy, hairy werewolf tearing everyone up, but with time his defensive flaws became apparent.
By the Fedor fight he was a Roach fighter and trying really hard to become a technician but yeah, the wildman came out and he paid for it.
He might actually be the type of fighter who benefits from getting a little older, calming the **** down.
Arlovski fights similar to Pacman, both are wild men trying to be refined. and sometimes forget their boxing and go beserk and careless and pay for it.
they fight very similar if you watch their boxing style, like in that KO of big foot, Arlovski threw the same type of straight right tht Pac throws his straight left
I was watching that live, Arlovski is back man, that was a nasty KO, he landed two hard right hands and down goes Big foot.
Arlovski has the best hands in all of MMA, best boxing hands down, only problem is he has a glass chin, he was Pacquiao'd before Manny was, remember the Fedor KO when Roach was in his corner? he tried a stupid flying knee and got careless and Fedor threw an over hand right like Marquez with his head down and bam face first to the canvas.
If Arlovski only boxed he could have one, sometimes he gets wreckless with his boxing, but he has some of the best hands I seen in MMA.

Why did you hesitate?
It was promising but the boxers that were supposed to go to the event never went, they had a ton of boxers who said they were going to go but only a handful showed up like Amir Khan, Kid Chocolate, to name a few.
It was sad, I think you can find video of the vent on youtube its empty compare it to UFC fan expo and its sad really.
Boxing fans seem to ***** and moan alot and complain, while UFC fans are so loyal to their sport and show support. I wish boxing could have a good fan base but everytime casual boxing fans or random people who don't really follow the sport just the big fights talk about boxing they are complaining about something, either boxing is dead, the sport is fixed, so and so is a ducker, or they are greedy thugs, or the fight was boring etc.
Didn't go because I live in Illinois.. My cousin talked to me about going, but I go on vacation week 1 of nfl every year with some guys and so it was kinda a timing thing.. I had just been in Pittsburgh the weekend before and wasn't trying to turn around and go to Vegas.
I would have def gone if I still lived out there, or was at least in driving distance
