I don't get why guys are making this guy go up to 168 when he can really fight at 154-160.
He isn't that big at all, look at this pic with him and Ronda Rousey all these female fighters fight at 135 pounds and below, the tall blonde female with the Glendale sweater is 5 foot 11 and Ronda is 5 foot 4.
GGG doesn't look huge at all, maybe he is 5 foot 8?
Which one is Ronda Rousey? All the nappy headed hoes are ugly
The one to his right. The taller girl to Ronda's right is Jessamyn Duke, 5'11" and also a UFC 135 lb fighter.
Why doesn''t a guy who fought at 160 his entire life not suddenly go down to 154 when he is 35 years old and fight the guys at 154 who dont want to fight him anyway?
You realize the talk about 154-168 was a couple years ago when he entered the scene, and since over 2 years its clear he will focus on unifying MW.
He is not a big MW and not a small one either, just the perfect weight for him, moving down at his age wouldnt be smart. We have seen how it affected Dawson for example. He was never the same.
Also people seem to forget that Hopkins fought exclusively at Middleweight until he was 41 years old and he was kinda forced to move up, because he lost to Jermaine Taylor twice in a row and said he has become too big for MW.
Bernard is 6´1" and really fits way better into 168-175.
So why does he not go to 154??
Because MW is one of original divisions with reach history and more prestige, unlike 154. GGG haters desperately trying to downplay this division. If there are no good fighters from US or GB, division sucks according to many here. But historically dominating MW puts him in line with Monzon, Hagler and BHop.
He's a proper middleweight. Not small or big for the weight.
Big at 154lbs and slightly small at 168lbs.
This. He's as true a middleweight as any fighter I've seen in the division.
GGG is a natural MW. He doesn't cut a ton of weight and he's not too small either. He's average sized. 5'10 170 seems right for that pic and those are his stats.
so why doesn't he fight at 154? A lot of good fighters coming up in that division. Fight Lara at 154 for a chance to be a 2 division champion. Or stay at 160 and do the same thing for a few more years lol
yep..... The great fighters who are ATG'S can move up and down in weight..it is a rare breed but that is what makes them so great
Agreed. So why won't Ward meet Golovkin half way at 164? That's fair right?
Floyd and Pac have already moved up SEVERAL TIMES!!!!
they did but floyd moved up with Age as his body grew, the only voluntary move he did where he could still make the lower weight was when he moved to Junior middleweight.
Now i want GGG to move up and i think if he does move up and wins titles at 168 then he (now read carefully what i am saying before you **** on it) would be at a size disadvantage equivalent to the biggest size disadvantage that floyd was in any single fight. if he moved up to LHW and even though its only 2 divisions, he would be at a bigger size disadvantage then floyd ever was. now i dont know if he will ever do it but it would be a big legacy move if he beats champions at SMW and LHW.
Why do american boxers always do that finger pointing thing when having their pics taken?
I like ward but he looks like a mong doing that lol
Oh... you know why!
You do come on think for a bit...
Who else does that finger salute?
Fine then!

:)
Son of ALLAHU AKBAR!!
He is wearing baggy clothes in that picture that and it looks like he has slumped a bit forward for the picture to get on the same height with Ronda etc.
Why leave out the most important part about how they are both MIDDLEWEIGHT champions in the same middleweight division with Golovkin being mandatory to Canelos middleweight belt lol seems pretty damn important.
I did say that he SHOULD NOT have to fight at 155
