Heres my list:
Ruslan Provodnikov
Jessie Vargas
Khabib Allakhverdiev
Viktor Postol
Anton Novikov
Mauricio Hererra
Adrien Broner
Chris Algieri
Hank Lundy
Am I missing anyone?
Is this the worst lineal champ in boxing history?
Its time for either Garcia to move up or give a rematch to Herrera or Matthysse at a catch weight. I said a cw because Garcia can't make 140 anymore and I don't know if Herrera or Matthysse are willing to move up all the way to 147.
I don't think they'll give Hererra a rematch, (or Lucas) sadly. They would of rematched Hererra right after the first fight if they were going to do it, IMO.
They legit think they beat him so no rematch
He was supposed to lose to Khan and Matthyse also. Worst champion ever? Stop being ri-gotdam-diculous!
Khan has a glass chin- literally, and it got cracked. But Lucas was a 50/50 fight, no one was supposed to lose or win that.... only diehard Lucas fans would say otherwise.
This thread isn't that crazy. There is a lot of good fighters at 140. We're talking about a guy who just fought 2 tuneups and celebrates like he KOd Mike Tyson. There is obviously some hesitation fighting the best in his camp and his fight against Herrra showed that.
if I told you to make a list from best to worst with the boxers you mention in OP where would you put Khan and Lucas?
I cannot say. But I can say the guys in my OP who I think beats them both (IMO) - Postol, Algieri, Khabib, Ruslan beat them both. Novikov, based on what I saw against Vargas could give Luas a 50/50 fight. I don't think he would beat Khan, though
Straight up. I don't think hes fought too many southpaws & Judah still has very fast hands. I think it was more fatigue than anything.
Ruslan is one of the most limited fighters I've seen at or around that level. He does nothing but plod forward eating leather hoping for a guy to come to a stand still so he can wing wide ass left hooks and telegraphed rights.
He has no defense, no jab, nothing.
I know a lot will disagree but I wouldn't even really give Ruslan a punchers chance. He'd get easily outboxed and maybe stopped due to cuts/facial damage.
Easy, easy fight for Swifty Garcia.
I think Ruslan gets easily outboxed by just about anybody with some ability, a chin and half a brain.
Oh, come on. Danny Garcia isn't a good boxer, though. Are you seriously going to tell me Garcia is a better boxer then Bradley and Hererra? Bradley would clown Garcia for 12 rounds...... Ruslan is indeed limited, one of the more limited fighters at this level of the sport. But it takes an elite boxer with a beard to be able to outbox him for 12 rounds.
Not only is Danny not an elite "boxer," his chin got cracked by Zab Judah. I honestly think Ruslan ices him within 6
Manny can make 140 and Blitz his ass
Manny would be better served fighting a ranked ww not named bradley or marquez
The past few years his comp.has fell off
By a lot
Danny Garcia is a very ordinary fighter. He's a tough guy with a good chin. But he is one of the worst lineal champs in the history of boxing, IMO.
He beat Matthysse. But he struggled with an old Judah, and even got hurt at the end. Lost to Hererra and that's why he had to fight Salka
Put Provodnikov, Postol, Algieri, Novikov, Bradley or even Rios in front of him tonight and I don't think he beats any of them, personally
That's just my opinion. I have nothing against Danny, I do not like his father, though
IMHO Danny is no ordinary fighter my good man. I think a lot overlook him because he is not "special". Danny is a really good fighter though and what makes him one is his power, his chin but mostly his uncanny timing ability. Danny can crack you mid shot or make u miss and crack u right at the end of your shot at an impressive level of accuracy. It was the demise of Khan and Morales, two great warriors. The Herrara fight was him being caught on a bad night with his head on a cloud. He was feeling himself too much and the whole Puerto Rico home coming was all pressure added on him. Herrara was a bad style matchup for him in general, add the weight of the pressure of impressing his new home and not being as focused on the fight as he maybe should have been, it spelled a bad night for Garcia. But lets not be fooled by the one bad fight. He did fight with heart when it came down to it but i do feel he came up short as well. Nonetheless, He still beats most names at 140 but boxers who can move and offset his timing ability like Herrera did will give him trouble every day of the week unless he upgrades some of his tools
The only guys with a legit chance of beating Garcia
Khan
Crawford
Lucas
Algieri
Herrera
Jmm, manny if they come down
I'm pretty sure Danny beats everyone else at 140, and the guys I mentioned aren't locks to beat him
:ugh:
you serious lmfao
If Ruslan Provodnikov fights Danny Garcia and lands those same
hayemakers that Ruslan Provodnikov landed a la Timothy Bradley
it would be "lights out" for Danny Garcia. If he is in fact going to
be fighting an "elite" fighter next it should be Ruslan Provodnikov.
Somebody posted here that Danny Garcia would be facing Algieri
next year whether he wins, loses or draws to Manny Pacquiao.
Ruslan Provodnikov
Juan Manuel Marquez
Mauricio Herrera II
Marcos Chino Maidana
Lucas Martin Matthysse II
Heres my list:
Ruslan Provodnikov
Jessie Vargas
Khabib Allakhverdiev
Viktor Postol
Anton Novikov
Mauricio Hererra
Adrien Broner
Chris Algieri
Hank Lundy

Only one person beats Garcia. You know, AB.
Lol, c'mon with Provo...
I like the guy and I don't like Danny, but Provo won't stand a chance. He is literally a face first brawler, but his punching power isn't that great. 16/26, is that really so scary? Matthysse has way more power and he is ore well rounded, better boxer than Provo, still Garcia beat him and he didn't go down from Matthysse's punches. Garcia is very good at countering and timing he has problems with slicker boxers, not the Provodnikov type of fighers. That fight would be a good style math up for Danny he would bet Provo up with his counter and would stop him late probably standing TKO or RTD...

Viktor Postol quite possibly - Skillset says so but is his chin good enough? Seen nothing to suggest its bad or anything
I think the Herrera rematch is winnable for Swifty
Matthysse
Lundy, Broner & Provodnikov haven't a chance.
Lundy lol damn you people must really hate Danny.
Really? Judah hurt Garcia and he's not hard to find. I don't see any basis for saying Provodnikov would not "have a chance".
I think Garcia finds it even tougher in a rematch v Herrera, fighters like Herrera find it easier when they've already worked you out.

Khan and Lucas are not in my OP nor are they mentioned.
He beat them both decisively. Or are you saying because he beat Khan and Lucas its okay for him to fight Salkas and its blasphemy to even compare/talk about him fighting other top 140lbers? Silly post
if I told you to make a list from best to worst with the boxers you mention in OP where would you put Khan and Lucas?
Danny already did what he had to do with Salka. I can asure you % 100 that his next fight is going to be a legit one. I put that on my mom.
All the guys you mentioned have been beating nobodies and i am not interested in seeing Danny fight them. I think besides Lamont and Adrien Danny's business at 140 is over, i'd like to see him step up to 147 and fight someone like Guerrero or Alexander...
Yeah..... Ruslan Provodnikov never gave Hererra or Tim Bradley hell :/
What does that say about Danny then? Or did the Hererra fight not count?
They would like to fight Danny. But Danny is fighting Rod Salka :ugh:
Let me guess.... Salka deserves a shot at Danny, but they don't?

Where are all the people saying GGG sucks (lol) because he sold 8,500 against an unknown Aussie in his first time at MSG? lol
They're busy getting paper work ready for the Ward vs Goosen case
Until Postol, Vargas and all the other guys u mentioned beat someone of the caliber of Amir Khan & Lucas Matthysse they still aint touching Danny.

Yes, he is the king of 140. But he is Losing to Herrera and fighting Rod Salka.
Like I said, he is one of the worst "kings" of a division of all time, IMO
