That was a pretty pathetic quit job from Geale. He wasn't doing too bad either, but went out like a sucka. He wasn't that hurt, or he would not have popped up as quickly as he did. I think he just decided that he didn't want to get hit anymore and quit. Sorry...but I don't respect that.
Sometimes you have to admit when you're beat to avoid more damage. Geale was in there feeling GGG's power and you weren't so you shouldn't be a harsh judge. GGG took Geale's punch flush in the face and in the same motion delivered one of his own that floored Geale who didn't even see or expect the shot to arrive at that point. Geale had no chance against Golovkin and by stopping the fight he can live and fight another day. There is life beyond boxing for Geale and it makes no sense for him to continue against a beast like Golovkin just for someone's entertainment that will probably forget about the fight the next day. Again, there is life after boxing and there's no glory in taking unnecessary punishment just so someone can have their temporary bloodlust thrill at the expense of the fighter's health.
I disagree, that punch looked like it ****ed him up.
So you think he had a chance. Their is a reason he quit. When people feel GGG's power, they realize they can't win. It's no coincidence you see some wide eyed fighter opposite of him every fight.
Not only that, but ggg was hit by geale's best shot, a right hand, yelling as he landed the punch and everything, and instead of being effected by it, or even resetting.. GGG shrugged it off and landed a bomb that dropped him.
Geale realized GGG could just walk through him and hurt him... And his legs was shook up..he was hurt early... He had no chance.
He was overmatched and I thought he gave an honest effort but was just out of his league..
An honest effort was in Rosado fight. The kid kept fighting all in blood..
At first I was a little annoyed but now I think he made the right decision. If he was a puncher and could turn the fight with any punch I would think he should of kept on fighting. But realistically ggg was about to walk him down and probably seriously hurt him because geale wasn't powerful enough to get his respect
Why would I downplay just because I'm a Cotto fan? Cotto purely went to middleweight to make history and that's it, he isn't going to fight at that weight anymore. Cotto doesn't need GGG, rather GGG needs Cotto. Their isn't shlt out there at Middleweight for GGG to fight so instead of calling out 5 foot 7junior middleweights, move up to super and show your worth.
None of that changes the fact GGG murders Cotto at 160. And in the end, that's all that matters. Cotto is the Lineal MW champ and he surely will not defend it against GGG, the best at 160.

If that is the case Cotto needs to go back to 154 as soon as possible instead of holding the belt hostage. The bottom line is that he holds a 160 lb title and if he intends to keep it, he needs to fight 160 pound fighters. Golovkin was calling out Martinez before Cotto beat him and took his title.
There is no reason for Golovkin to move up just yet, he isn't big for middleweight, and asking him to move up because fighters are ducking him is not fair. I would agree if it was a situation like Chavez, where he is outweighing his opponents by a large margin, and bullying them.

until Cotto relinquishes the WBC belt, he's a ****ing middleweight
get the **** outta here with that nonsense, ****ing cottard.
Geale claimed he shaked his head in disappointment in himself in the post fight press conference, not that he wanted to quit.
Really trying to understand why he didn't stay down and take the full count.
Lol another scared Cotto fan trying to downplay GGG . Geale was obviously trying to win, he was boxing well and throwing with force before he got stopped.

Is he happy with the stoppage? He didn't resist...
He was their for the paycheck, he could care less about the win. GGG fans think he's on top of boxing with this win too.
Ur an idiot and thats fuxkinng gold when talking about a fighter that only showed up for the paycheck. Martinez is the definition of a fighter that cashed out.
