And how do you know what Haymon was willing to pay? May I have some proof of the Ghost's and Maidana's proposed purses please. That way I can become a believer.
I don't know the exact number but it obviously wasn't enough. But I do know Diaz made 100 grand.
He's more skilled than Porter, and MAYBE Thurman but if either of those guys land on him like Gamboa did in the first four rounds he may not have time to adjust before getting stopped.
I still think if they were the same size, thurman would pull out a win. Not sure if Crawford is P4P yet, but hes definetely a fighter to watch and he's just created a myriad of great match up possibilities with the way he dispatched Gamboa
IMO Crawford by far the better boxer of the three hands down. Let me know when either of those guys could outbox an Olympic gold medalist as a southpaw...
Damn don mega you droppin that ISM!!!!!!!
Man that's the truth....
Do you think he could beat them at welterweight? I do you think his skills is better he's like andre ward in a lot of ways.
Crawford showed masterful boxing. Yes skill wise he is better than Porter and Thurman.
Porter overwhelms pretty much like Pac. While Thurman is KO fighter with some skill.
Haymon has a way of building up his talent. He did it with Broner, Berto, Charo Bros, and now Thurman. Sure they want to fight the best but they also want to be on the A side of negotiations. Thurman's resume is weak but if you look at it he's fought the kind of opposition Haymon is willing to pay for. You can't get top contenders in the ring for 90 to 100 grand. So he gets stuck fighting the Diaz' of the world. Top opposition is going to cost multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions.

Exactly. Class will tell over time. Just sit back and watch it unfold

Now while I think Crawford is probably better pfp than Porter and Thurman, no he won't beat those welterweights. But Mathed can you please explain to me exactly how you came up with the (theory) or Thurman being protected and this guy why do you agree?

Thurman or Porter havent had the chance to prove it against good opposition but I think it'd be safe to say he's a better boxer than Porter. For Thurman that remains to be seen. Thurman couldpotentially be
People, Thurman is a protected fighter and he is protected for a reason. He will lose and lose by KO....believe that.
I agree he's been protected. But he's going to have the oppurtunity to land all the talented WW fighters in Haymons stable. Right now 140 is as stale as week old potato chips. What's next for Crawford? Mike Alvarado, Rios, Provo maybe. Pretty underwhelming in my opinion.

Yes, and yes. Crawford is much more polished than either of those two. Crawford kind of reminds me of Broner though. At 135 Broner would of been able to dominate but he moved up and it was a mistake. I'm not sure how great Crawford will be moving forward(his defense isn't amazing and he isnt a super powerful guy).
He's a way better boxer than Broner. He fought Prescott at 140 and used his feet, countered and was more defensive minded.
The difference is Crawford can out box you and slug it out if he needs too.
Yes,you should have put up a poll..
Crawford has better movement(footwork)and ring I.Q.then Thurman..Thurman is a very talented fighter..His skill level does not seem as high as Crawford's imo..

Crawford has the better resume at the moment. But Thurman has a much higher ceiling. And he's in the right weight class where most of the stars compete at.

Calm down fellas. I just watched Crawford get buckled against a stunned Gamboa who was basically out on his feet. Saying he could beat Thurman or Porter is being a little overzealous. Those cats bring heat.
Not that he beats them, but is he a better fighter pound for pound in terms of skills and abilities. And from what I've seen my answer is yes.
