i remember a few fight results being spoiled accidentally before i had a chance to see the fight.. like by someone i know, or seeing the result online where i wasnt supposed to. it is seriously a slap your own forehead moment..
juiciest palm print i left on my forehead was when i heard the result of pac vs bradley 1 before watching the fight... ever happened to you?
I remember watching a fight on HBO and Jim Lamps spoiled the fight results on Showtime for me I was so pissed. I forgot which fight it was.
Yes, this happened a few times in the 2006-2010 time frame when the competing cards started to become a regular occurrence. HBO was quite the bully back then.
I was watching Pavlik/Taylor I delayed and a friend of mine texted me, "and the new!" Right when Taylor was knocking Pavlik all over the ring.
I went to download Pac/JMM 4 in the video section and someone commented, "it happened! " I was so pissed.
Pac Marquez 4. I took every precaution to avoid it and ended up seeing the result on ESPN at the laundromat. That f*ckin Laundromat ruined a bears game for me too now that I think about it. Oh well I got a W&D now, no more spoiled sporting events for me.
I know one thing, if I miss a fight, there's no way in hell i'm logging on here or espn.
The first page usually looks like this after a big win...
1. Comments Thread For: gets off the canvas to shock .
2. Poll: Can beat SRR?!?
3. vs , who wins?
4. I told ya'll was the real deal!!!
5. is the best in the division.
6. SUCKS he cheated, threw too many low blows...
7. RAN THE WHOLE TIME!!!
Pac vs JMM 4. Was living in Germany at the time and fell asleep before it came on. Woke up the next morning to come on here and download it but ESPN is my homepage and plastered all over the front of it was JMM with his hand raised with Pac laying on the ground.
Wlad-Corrie Sanders. I was looking forward to watching that one on HBO (they didn't show it live) later that night, but ESPN put the result on the bottom line crawl. I was so angry that it got spoiled but I couldn't wait to see how it happened.
Cotto Margarito II.
I was hanging with a new girlfriend that night, and had made sure not to check Facebook or anything, because I was going to hit up the downloads section when I got home early in the morning and watch the fight before going to bed.
I was making out with this chick on her couch and my phone goes off. I picked it up, and saw I had a text from a work buddy. I wasnt even going to open it, but in the text-preview at the top of the screen, it said "COTTO!!!!!!!"
I said "GOD ****ING DAMN IT MIKE!" and threw my phone across the room.
She must have thought I had issues
I was stationed in Korea and it was rare AFN showed live fights unless it was a big PPV; it was probably 30 minutes before they was supposed to show the Hopkins Tarver fight and somebody had put it on the sports channel and before I could turn the channel the result showed up.
I recorded the Broner/Maidana fight to watch after I get off work. As soon as I pull into the driveway my neighbor yells " did you see Broner get Fu(ked up?!!" Pissed me the hell off.
Since some showtime fights from the east coast are delayed with the broadcast to the west coast; I watched boxeo azteca to kill time before I can watch Peterson vs Matthysse. The ******* commentators said Matthysse KO'd Peterson by the 3rd round. I was pissed.
Victor Ortiz vs Josesito Lopez. I missed it to go to some live local fights. Checked my texts on the way home. My boy texted me and said Lopez broke Ortiz's jaw and made him quit on the stool. I thought he was playing, then I got another text saying the same. I laughed
Everytime I miss a fight, I come on here to check out a replay in the video section.
But, I put my hand over the screen to block it out so I cant see the headlines, except for the top where I can click on the forums.
The whole time I'm hoping not to catch a glimpse of a headline or a title of a thread that may give it away.
Its like playing peek-a-boo
