Floyd / Cotto II would be no different than Floyd / Cotto I. Officially Cotto weighed 155 for the Martinez fight and 154 for the Floyd fight. What can Cotto do a second time around that he could not do the first time? Absolutely nothing. I think Cotto should chase the money fights he has a great chance of wining. Floyd is not one of them. I congratulate him on his win last night as he showed great skills in taking advantage of Martinez's biggest flaw - dropping his right hand to his waist after throwing his jab. Martinez lost the fight because he was wide open for a Left hook, just like Paul Williams. How ironic.

I, like many others on the forum think if Canelo gets past Lara, he will move up and challenge Cotto. If so i can see Cotto taking the chance against Canelo seeing how it would be Saul's first fight at 160 lbs. Plus i think Cotto is aware of his situation, in other words he knows he is quite small for the division he is currently reigning in. Cotto vs Canelo would also provide him with a hefty payday and it would generate electricity amongst fans and media. Both have a chance to win and it makes for an interesting fight, but most importantly it plays onto the Puerto Rico vs Mexico rivalry that we have been deprived of in recent years at such a prestige level.

or unify against quillin. theres really no incentive to do that. cotto has the lineal title, hes the money maker in the division and hes pretty undersized. id like to see that fight but i wouldnt hold my breath on cotto fighting any real mws next besides canelo, who should be a mw.

Cotto could win if he uses his title as leverage to get floyd to fight in ny on PR Day. He just has to win 5 rounds and i'm sure the judges will give him the fight.

I think Cotto might do better in rounds won, but it would be basically the same fight and Mayweather would win. Maybe not. I wouldn't count Cotto out.

Don't know about "destroy" but it's a good fight and certainly makes sense, Gives Floyd a chance at another division and belt. Gives Cotto a chance at redemption. I know Roach wants this fight. Floyd himself says Cotto was the toughest test. Both Floyd and Cotto are at the end of their careers. Nice ride off in the sunset money. Fight will definitely sell. It's a good fight to the casual and to hardcore fans and needs to happen soon, they don't have a lot of time. Honestly both fighters have options but none as lucrative as each other. For the hardcore fan, we can dream all these good fights up and we would be right on...but this is the money fight...plus either fighter can really win this.
