SRR was a huge POS and most insiders knew it. He squandered away most of his purse money on cars, women, and booze most likely and probably beat his wife down when they argued over his constant womanizing. But his skill speaks for itself so yes peeps give him a pass
Regarding Cassius, bc I refuse to call him Al! out of my disrespect for this guy, he sucks as a man. I can look past Vietnam but can't ignore treatment of Liston, Frazier, or Foreman. Glad he's got Parkinson's because karma is the biggest ***** you'll ever get f@cked by
What an absolutely asinine thing to say...and I'm referring to all the above
firstly, anyone giving someone a pass for beating a woman because of "skills" is hideous. You're going to argue that you're not one of those "peeps". I would argue that you are indeed one of them. Equating a woman beater with someone who self promotes and taunts opponents is tantamount to being accepting of the obviously worse acts being discussed.
You have condoned beating a woman, but being mildly disrespectful in an attempt to entertain, that's where you draw the line in the sand. That sort of thing is the point at which people deserve incurable disease...
ok, got ya!
By the way, your unwillingness to even say the man's name says a lot as well.
Ali ****ing over his buddy is worse than Robinson beating up his wife
Well that is your opinion, my opinion is that you are sick in the head, and should never be around amongst people.
wtf? He's gonna fight Charles at HW? Burley was all but gone from the sport by the time SRR reached 160lb.
You are stretching it.
Moore? Burley? Would've been his best wins easily.
no charles, moore, burley, williams etc etc on his resume though. and he was being a diva about the wade fight

Used to beat on his wife cheat on his wife was flashy said he fought for money ect. Does that make you think differently about him?
This is old news, it dosen't change my opinion of him as a fighter though.
Damn your sig is long as hell on my phone lol. Idk much about Louis out side the ring
Louis also cheated on his wife several times. He once left home and didn't return home after a couple of weeks, His wife knew that he has another relationship with other women.
I am disgusted reading people give SRR a free pass for smashing up wife and kids like it was his job.
Yet the same people says Ali is a pos, because he trash talked
Ever read Ali´s book ?, he loved frazier and deep inside wanted to be his friend.
All the trash talk was to sell the fight, not only did he do that very well, he made Joe flight rich.
Being a good looking black man, that believes in himself, that is brash and we'll spoken, is white Americas worst fear
People close to him have said he fought for money.
Robinson said it was a business for him. He was a diva and tough negotiator.
Joe Louis was great inside and outside the ring.
Louis had his demons too.
He once choked the hell out of a mistress over a golf game.
Alexis Arguello, like Louis, was a classy guy with personal demons and issues with drugs/alcohol/depression and had some incidents where they were violent towards women.
if i judged boxers by their personalities outside the ring, Michael Spinks would be my only favorite.
He's apparently a woman beater too. He got arrested for beating the crap out of his wife and pled no contest.
He fought for money?? He fought every lethal threat of his era - in most cases multiple times. He got paid to do it. :lol1: Somebody doesn't understand the meaning behind the phrase "fighting for money."

Why do you guys give a flying freak what these guys are like outside the ring? They take a beating to the head for a living. You expect them to be normal?
You are not perfect yourselves and will never be great at anything so what fuels your hate for others who have worked hard and overcome many obstacles to be great at something.
We're all ****ed up in some way. Some of us just channelled it into doing great things.

Lol ye Ali def was too I've said it before. Calling Frazier an Uncle Tom. Dodging the draft cheating on his wife. People on here forget these guys aren't saints. I mean they best people up for a living
Don't ever knock Ali for dodging the draft.....that war was bullsh*t. Why the f*ck should an African American in the mid 60's go fight a war for the country where he couldn't even get the same equality as the people he would have been defending???
Does that make you think differently about him?
Nope.
But that probably has something to do with the fact that I judge fighters on what they accomplish in the ring.
As a fighter - Ray Robinson was the greatest to ever do it. As a human being - Ray Robinson was a piece of sh*t. Like numerous other ATG boxers.
As far as it changing my opinion, no it doesn't. I've known about this stuff for quite some time though. I judge him on his boxing career. I don't worry about his personal life. I don't condone any of that, but I don't let that cloud my judgement as a boxing fan.
