I don't get how so many people can think Maidana actually won..I had it 117-111 for Mayweather.....if you do your either partially blind or just a Floyd hater, yes Maidana came to fight but you can't just swing wildly when Floyd is on the ropes pretty much miss every shot or land arm and shoulder shots, then say you won. This is boxing. Mayweather hit him with clean right hands in the middle of the ring and on the ropes blocked and dodged most of Maidana's punches and countered well. Having said that Mayweather should have thrown more punches and kept it in the middle of the ring rather then willingly go to the ropes that much, and he will do just that in the rematch. So what do you guys think?
Thought only Floyd fans were going to buy this fight, but looks like those haters where spending their money as they always do in hopes of an upset. What they got to see was a MMA fighter against a boxer. Sure it was a tough fight but not a tough fight to score when you are watching the action with your eyes & not your head. Chino got away with a lot of BS that Tony Weeks let slide. Kinda thought Oscar had paid ole boy a few extra ends to allow this reckless type action to continue. Kenny Bayless would have deducted a point for that attempted knee to the face shot right off the bat. Those rabbit punches would have got another 2-3 points during the fight as well. And to be honest he would have deducted a point from Floyd for holding because he's an extremely good ref. Honestly the fight wasn***8217;t that good because I***8217;m use to seeing professionals in the ring as well as professionals in each corner. Chino***8217;s corner thought they were winning with their guy fighting like woman swinging and not hitting anything. Floyd***8217;s corner wasn***8217;t exactly doing much because the cut man had to get in there & handle the head butt, which was accidental. As far as a rematch, sure who wouldn***8217;t want to see Floyd make a serious adjustment & shut out this amateur. But I sure hope Bayless gets the nod for the rematch since right now he***8217;s P4P the best ref in the business. Better then Joe Cortez would ever had been since he***8217;s such a fair but firm bias ref. Yeah Joe I haven***8217;t forgot about the way you bent the rules against Sweet Pea when he schooled Chavez Sr***8230;***8230;..
"Clean punches" again. There must have been a memo. I'll try this a different way. Clean punches to what avail? What did he do?
Rigondeaux is a very clean hard puncher. (Like Floyd often is.) He is such a good clean hard puncher that he renders many of his opponent unwilling to throw. It can make for boring fights unless the other guy gets desperate and tries to force the issue, but he owns his range and controls the whole fight via his counterpunching.
What did Floyd's clean punching buy him in THIS fight? Was there effective aggression there? Not at all consistently. Was there ring gerneralship? He couldn't maintain range, stay on his bike, or stay toe to toe. He was bullied to the ropes all night. His normally great defence? He held Chino to about the same % that Chino normally connects with. What did Floyd's clean punching buy? A more competitive fight in the second half, at best, with everything stacked in his favour.
Ask Paulie Malignaggi about clean punching that fails to achieve results. It wasn't (nearly) that bad for Floyd, but "clean punching" that yields mostly squat for results is worth exactly squat if the other guy is doing more than nothing.
sshhh.. they cant handle the truth man, their little Fraudtard brains cant deal with it.
