You may like Hopkins style but I did not like the way Hopkins won the fight. True he was more accurate but threw fewer punches, and most of the time backing off or running away. I think this is what made one judge score against Hopkins, because maybe the judge thought that running away too much is a criteria for losing a round.
I thought it was better for Shumenov to wait in the middle of the ring and wait for Hopkins to exchange punches, than trying to run after Hopkins and get careless. I think the key to beating Hopkins boring tactic or a similar boxer is to give him a dose of his own medicine, be more of a counter puncher than him.
Hopkins may have won a lot of fights, but he did not earn my respect to him as a great boxer, I would rather give my respect to Shawn Porter and Tim Bradley.
hopkins vs murat was exciting, lots of exchanges
this fight, you can actually see hopkins adapt from the first 3 rounds on. was an enjoy to watch. counters were quick. even dropped beibut
hopkins is 50.. what do you expect? i hope not a brawl. i thoroughly enjoyed that performance nd learned a lot about boxing technicality.
now hopkins vs fanfara/stevenson winner will be a treat. lets hop we get that next!
that was almost a flawless performance from hopkins.. it was a masterclass.. hopkins skills, technique, counter punching, footwork, defense, economical output, and ring generalship.. incredible..
and fighting on the backfoot is a fundemental part of boxing but it aint easy and everyone cant even do it.. hopkins executed it perfectly in some parts of that fight..
you cant give points to a boxer just because they're moving forward, throwing but missing the target.. that judge should be banned for life or shot into space..

Oh No-I'm sure Hopkins will be on suicide watch knowing that some random guy on here didn't appreciate a display of skill that a 50 year old man demonstrated.I repeat-A 50 YEAR OLD MAN!!! Take a breath and think about it.
How many 50 year olds do you know who are schooling guys damn near 20 years younger????? Learn to appreciate technique instead of the quick fix.
