It doesn't matter if Joe Calzaghe was from Brooklyn, Cananda, Mexico or the North Pole he'd still have only fought 3 fighters in his entire career who were ranked in the Top 5 when he fought them, once of which being the biggest hype job arguably in the history of Boxing.
So again, no.
Wow really? Thats worse then I thought. 40 something fights and only 3 guys ranked in the top 5 when he fought them? Disgusting!
i bet you anything if joe calzaghe was black, from brooklyn and was named joe carter and had the same resume,
he would be defended and critically praised by the same people.
How could he have the same record if he lived in Brooklyn when all the unranked cans he fought are from the UK?
Don't you haters think its a little funny when Floyd beats a fighter they becomes a hype job, cherry pick, weight drained, past their prime...don't you haters find it weird that Floyd has managed to payoff referees, USADA drug testers, judges and fighters to go easy on him...don't you haters think its a strange for you to make thread everyday about a person you claim to hate???? Well thats
what happens when you duck fights, Including the biggest fight in boxing history. Fans are going to call you out on the BS, Floyd earned his sh1tty reputation so you don't have to cry for him.
No one yet those two were way past prime. Seriously, calzaghe beat up on past prime guys and european challengers. He is really bood, but not in floyds league.
Yeah he beat up hopkins by not hitting him at all besides in the balls. Lets face facts Calzaghe was wiffing all night with those windmill slaps. I don't even think anyone takes Calzaghe seriously. He's like an otteke or that light heavyweight bum who held his crap strap hostage by not fighting anybody.
To amount of collective retardation on this site is beyond me.
Lol I gave up on threads like this a long time ago. Ppl are truly content on being idiotic if it suits their purposes. It's not something u can reason with.
are you seriously fighting for the honor of boxing division rankings by the different and ubiquitous fighting organizations who bump fighters due to promotional influence?
:dunce:
It's got nothing to do with fighting organizations.
And no what I am saying is no matter where Calzaghe is from the fact will remain that he has fought 3 Top 5 ranked fighters his entire career and that's ranked universally.
So no matter where he was from he'd still get the same criticism that he does now.
To compare Calzaghe's to Mayweather's is ridiculous. Mayweather's resume at 130 and 135 alone is deeper than Calzaghe's entire resume.

It's actually striking how similar their records are in this regard.
They both have unattractive fighting styles as well, but the same people who say "Ewww, Calzaghe, slapping for points, that's not fighting" are the ones who say "Man Floyd may be boring but he's a defensive technician! He does what it takes to keep that 0!"

I think your missing the real point! Ones a boy ones a man :) One would fight whoever one wouldn't, One beats on women! One doesn't.. Ones a runner ones a fighter! Two totally different people.. Can't really compare to be honest
Peace

what about kessler and bika?
Kessler was great, but if Bika is one of Joe's best wins then Floyd has plenty of fighters on his record who are far better than him. Giorgio Vargas is just one.
Floyd's best wins: Corrales (unbeaten), Castillio (2nd), Zab Judah (prime), Hatton (unbeaten), Marquez, Guerrero and Miguel Cotto.
Calzaghe: Lacy (unbeaten), Kessler (unbeaten) and Hopkins.
If you take their best wins with fighters who were not over the hill then its quite clear Mayweather > Calzaghe any day. I haven't mentioned Oscar or Gatti cuz they were done and same with Eubank and Jones for Calzaghe.
