Truth is Maidana was fighting with a stomache infection that night so he had to really concentrate on not loosening his buttocks if ya know what i mean, which definitely hindered his mobility. Maidana said so himself in an interview. He had a sore toe.

Excessive clinching isn't a valid excuse for losing nearly every single round. It didn't stop Bradley and Porter from completely dominating Alexander. Maidana is a solid, fan-friendly banger and that's about it. His so called improvements have coincided with favourable matchmaking.

Cope with what? It was a clear strategy in this particular fight. Alexander has never been a guy to consistently clinch. In this fight in particular it stopped Maidana from working at all. Alexendar would work from range, run, hold when he got backed up, and Maidana wasn't allowed to work.... Simple as that. Maidana clearly didn't deal with it well, but that doesn't change the fact that it's illegal.

So quit saying it. I'm a Maidana fan, but Alexander used his feet good, hugged like girl, and fought back when he was forced to. I hate the type of boxing Alexander did. It's very upsetting. When a fighter gets too good at boxing, like Mayweather, the fights are boring. The guys need to be just under that level for the matches to be epic. Maidana is perfect. Castillo-Corrales, Gatti-Ward, Rios-Alvarado.

I picked Broner to beat Maidana..I also said that if Broner does not move his feet he will lose..I also did pick Bradley to beat Pac,1-1 not bad..I hope I'm wrong to,cause like you I'll most likely be ordering this fight..I don't have high hopes for it tho..May is just a different animal..I do think Maidana mentality is the one ya have to use on Mayweather(all out aggression,to hell with trying to win a boxing match)yet I see Maidana being to slow to effectively do it..Like ya said,I might be wrong..All we can hope for is a good fight.. I honestly believe after watching both fights numerous times if Khan had fought Maidana the same way he id Garcia, he would have got dropped and stopped within 6 rounds, he showed Garcia power no respect, trading with him in the middle of the ring, MAidana caught him while he was by the ropes running, you can see the ropes actually keep Khan from dropping. On to Maidana, yes he struggles with movement, to have any chance vs Floyd he will need to cunt of the ring better than he has ever done, he has to get him on the ropes like cotto did, MAidana can do damage on the ropes IMO. The mismatch thing keeps getting mentioned and Floyd might make it look that way, Canelo, JMM, RG all ended up being mismatches but i see MAidana causing Floyd problems with his aggression and tactics of not trying to outbox Floyd, it might not work and i'll look foolish post fight but i believe Maidana will have some success, enough to win we shall see but i think he gives Floyd a decent fight, better than those 3 i mentioned. I have to disagree..Broner started to get into a grove and come back on Maidana before the 2end KD..I had it 8-4 Maidana..Of course Maidana won rds big,that does not mean Broner won no rds..Not to mention most rds were close and then Maidana would land a very telling shot that would swing the rd in his favor..Anyway we are getting off track.. Lopez Broner Karass..You wanna know what all these fighters had in common??They all stood directly in front of Maidana..If you stand in front of Maidana,yes he can make things difficult..No doubt..Do you know what every fighter who beat Maidana have in common??They move and do not stand in front of him..Simple bro,movement is a solid weapon against Maidana..It also allows you to see everything from him coming.. Broner didn't "win loads of rounds", he barely won 3 and even those were competitive rounds where Maidana won his rounds big with KD's or him stunning Broner, Broner hurt Maidana once with an after the bell shot. That was a wide win for Maidana, not close in the slightest. Maidana is less predictable now, he sets traps, uses feints. Check the 2 kd's vs Broner, a fake body shot then a shot over the top, Broner couldn't figure him out. The kd vs Lopez was similar but he actually landed a brutal body shot first and the last punch thrown was faster than before, Garcia has improved him i have no doubts, the jab as well. What i will say though is that the opponents have been beatable/nice styles for him, but you can see improvements, his defense is still a weak link but even that has improved with him actually slipping punches and countering now. Maidana ain't perfect, he is beatable but has good power, underrated skills and huge heart, Floyd is on a different level talent wise but it still doesn't guarantee victory, maidana KO'ing Floyd doesn't mean he becomes a better Boxer than Floyd, it just means he beat him on that night.
