Does Broner come back and beat Maidana?
Personally I think it's a stupid question. For this to not be a stupid question, it would have to be feasible that Broner had a chance of coming back. He didn't.

no, everytime that it seemed that broner was coming on strong madiana stopped him with a left hook (look at the 12th) even when he looked hurt in the first half of the last round, maidana finished the fight strong and hurt broner a few times before the final bell
Maidana has gone on record and said Broner hits hard and has quite a bit of power.
At one point, in the late rounds, it looked like Broner was on the verge of stopping Maidana.
By the 12th round I thought Broner looked fresher than Maidana, also Maidana's conditioning hasn't always been the best, but I think it sorta evens out with the fact that Broner doesn't throw that much.
But of course a puncher like Maidana is always dangerous until the final bell rings. It's totally plausible that he could of KO'd Broner in 13, 14, or 15. All I'm saying is it would of been an interesting fight had it gone three more rounds.
Broner said he was scared he couldn't go the full 12 against malignaggi his punch output is low because he scares of tiring. Broner would have a little chance of surviving imo
This thread was up last night. Hasn't Maidana finished him off yet? Broner is muscle bound from too much heavy weight lifting. He telegraphs his punches and his punches are not very fast and lack snap. He averages less than 30 punches a round. He will never beat a natural fighter and puncher like Maidana who's faster punches seem to come out of nowhere and catch guys by surprise.
This is a stupid question. If Broner had scored 3 knockdowns and won each of the last 3 rounds in a 15 rounder, Maidana still would've won a close decision based on the score after 12 rounds(he was up 5 points on one card and 7 on the other two).
So essentially what you are asking is "Could Broner have knocked Maidana out?" and the answer is 'No'.
I'm assuming most of the people who voted 'Yes' didn't do the math first because if anyone looked like being knocked out in that fight it was Broner.
Broner only rallied because he knew that Round 12 was the only chance he had. He wouldn't have taken that risk if it was a 15 round fight. He would've been stopped in those particular later rounds.
No way. He was just as tired as Maidana. In fact Maidana may have stopped him. That couner left was killing Broner when Maidana fought on the back foot.
Absolutely not. Broner only won a round or two. Even if he won round 13, 14, and 15 he still loses. Broner was not coming on strong at the end. He lost the late rounds just like he lost the early rounds. He probably would not have lasted 3 more rounds with Maidana. He tried to get Maidana DQed by dropping to the canvas in delayed faked agony after a lightweight head butt.. Maidana took the fight out of him. There would have been no late rally by Broner in a 15 rounder. Maidana chased him down to 140 to fight Khan's worst leftovers. Maidana kicked his ass from start to finish so leave to at that. Don't try to rewrite history with a 15 rounder because 3 more rounds would have only made things worse for Broner who averaged less than 30 punches a round to Maidana's 70 punches a round.
IF.. IF... IF... Chavez vs. Martinez was a 13 round fight. IF Pacquiao had not jumped into that punch. IF HanzGruber's dad had pulled out in time.
Life is not about ifs, imagination is.

No, Broner had no answer for Maidana's looping left hooks. He ate repeated shots at various distances and when he had spots where he looked like he could come back or some success it seemed like he would eat a big shot and be back at square one. His defense was just so lackluster and he didn't really land many significant punches either. I think he hurt Maidana once in the fight and even in that instance I think Maidana hurt him after that.
I don't think Maidana would have faded enough for Broner to take significant control of the fight.
