another mismatch smh, wait to fight the best available opponent, fight pascal No point in waiting around for a Pascal fight that might not happen (I'm sure Duva would prioritise that if it looks like getting made) but fighting next month in Russia leaves plenty of time for a bigger fight later in the year. Kovalev is only recently getting much attention in Russia (behind Russian and Euro based fighters like Povetkin and Lebedev) and a fight there would really help build his popularity in his homeland. I don't really see the point in him sitting around, might as well fight and get paid - Sukhotsky wouldn't be terrible as a stay busy (he does have a TBA penciled in for early June, but I'm sure a title fight with Kovalev would earn him a fair bit more).

Pascal only fights once a year.. that's too long of a wait. Kovalev can fight in May, then in September or October against Pascal. I dream of a card in Montreal with Kovalev-Pascal and Stevenson-Hopkins. Then winners fight!
