Provo is fighting at 140 man, that's one of the stipulations of the Rios fight while Thurman is obviously a welter. Beating Chaves again doesn't do anything for KT.
I know what you mean, but there are still options available to them. It's a matter of picking them I guess.
Overhyped and over confident. I'll name you 3 guys that would fight him 2mro if they could
Chaves (rematch)
Provodnikov (it's bs he is ducking Rios, Arum just doesn't want his money pot being boned completely dry) cold war fvcks the sport.

They are all p*ssies. How many times did each of these guys claim someone was ducking them... Now here they are doing the same. "High risk, low reward"... Isn't Floyd accused of fighting "low risk high reward"? This generation of boxing is so damn lame. Yeah I believe Thurman will most likely beat anyone at 147 that isn't named Mayweather or Pacquiao but we will probably never know because these guys that have a belt or a name are only looking for fights that are jackpots(Mayweather) or they are looking for the fight that will give them the most money without a big enough risk.
Your boy Thurman is only 26 years old , Floyd will soon be the WBA champion and once he retire in the fall of 2015 , The WBA Interim champion Thurman becames champions at the age of 28 just hold on to your interim belt and you will be champion before 30
i have a feeling this dude is another hype golden boy created waiting to be EXPOSED
dude looks chinny if u ask me
Watch the shots he took against Chaves, and tell me he's chinny.
He should have said "the whole Golden Boy stable is ducking me"
Pac, Bradley, and Provodnikov would fight him if he was with Top Rank.
Pac waited till Mosley was shot to fight him,so i doubt Pac wants it with Thurman.
He absolutely did...
DAN RAFAEL JULY 3 2012
• Junior welterweight titlist Marcos Maidana (31-3, 28 KOs), coming off a virtual shutout decision loss to Devon Alexander in February, was slated to remain at the welterweight division and face untested Keith Thurman (17-0, 16 KOs) on the Adrien Broner-Vicente Escobedo undercard on July 21. Thurman was somehow approved for an HBO telecast despite zero credentials and a padded record that includes wins against 10 opponents with records of .500 or below. But Maidana saved us the trouble of the ridiculous fight by declining Golden Boy's offer.
Although HBO and Golden Boy talked as though the fight was made, Maidana's adviser, Sebastian Contursi, told ESPN.com that it was not finalized. Contursi said Golden Boy presented Maidana with three options for July: Alfonso Gomez, Shawn Porter and Thurman.
Contursi said they couldn't agree on money for the Gomez fight. He said that although they accepted Porter (for the July 14 Amir Khan-Danny Garcia undercard), Golden Boy told him Porter's side turned down the fight, leaving Maidana with the even more unknown Thurman.
"We accepted in principle, but we never even finalized negotiations," Contursi said. “In fact, we were supposed to fight July 14 in Las Vegas, and out of nothing, we were told it was gonna be on July 21 in Cincinnati. We wonder who might be that interested in seeing that fight take place when Thurman is an unknown fighter but naturally much bigger than Maidana . Maidana is under contract with and Thurman is not, so what is the point of making that fight in the first place?"
(That's easy: Thurman is with powerful adviser Al Haymon, who usually gets what he wants at HBO and Showtime.)
Contursi added: "Even though we admit that Maidana looked bad and lost his last fight, we don't think he should be facing an eight-round . Can you think of any other case where a world champion that has earned his name has faced an eight-round fighter?"
So Maidana-Thurman, thankfully, is off. But Maidana's next move is up in the air, and Golden Boy and HBO are stuck trying to make a new fight for Thurman, who never should have been approved to be on the network in the first place
Thurman vs brook in a #1 contender fight, or title fight vs porter seem to be the most logical opponents..
Him vs ghost was discussed but ghost turned it down
The only guys that are probably willing to fight Thurman are old vets looking for paydays like Julio Diaz, Pauli, zab,
Porter wanted to if I remember but the offer made to him was pathetic for him to accept...I think they want what I suggested in paulie, brook, and floyd. If they both win their fights in 2015 it'd be 3 belts on the line.
Thurman will turn 26 this year, he still has time. By this time next year, Floyd should be retired and the belts will be up for grabs. All he has to do is keep improving, keep winning and stay healthy.
Then people say "oh oh Khan isn't a superstar". So try naming me any other fighter who can be so close in the Mayweather race by not doing jack for a year?
no one, that's why khan didn't get the fight, he tried to talk him self into the fight but it didn't work
man, at least when maidana takes a tune up fight he KOs his opponent, not like others who look like crap in doing so and then remains inactive for over a year expecting to get a shot at the p4p nº1 fighter in the world just for doing nothing
