Instead of agreeing to smash up blown up over the hill never was lightweights, that piece of **** who runs golden boy said every 140 or 147 was busy or turned him down, why not ask some 154 fighters Thurman was a 154 fighter as a amateur and boxed at 154 as a pro, am sure Vanes, Austin trout, Lara, Ishe smith, Molin, Will Nelson, Rosado or one of the Charlo brothers would have had no problem facing him, typical shady, bull**** tactics by golden boy, they are wiling to only fight outside a weight class if it means dropping down and making blown up lightweights move up, when instead light middle is over flown with good fights and challenges for one time
Why should these "avoided" guys have to jump up in weight? Then when they don't, somehow that makes them scared.
Because it takes the heat off the fighters who are ducking them. Surprised we haven't heard "Kovalev should move to cruiserweight" yet.
Also, Thurman said he'd sign to fight Canelo.
That's kind of an unfair way to paint it because all of those 17 fights he weighed 147 1/2 to 151. This is normal for up and comers, fighting unranked guys or whatever, they don't need to cut the extra couple pounds. Look at Errol Spence as an example he's a welterweight but 9 out of his 11 fights he's weighed between 147 1/2 to 150. Same reason - he's fighting unranked guys, etc. No need to make 147 yet.
I understand that, but technically its not in the WW division, which has a limit of 147. Just another way boxing bends its rules, getting ranked at WW by fighting at JMW, it makes no sense
Ward didnt "completely clean out" 168. He didnt wanna fight Bute
Yeah, I was a lil salty about that. I was pissed that Froch got to Bute 1st. I always knew he was nothing special.
All in all, doesn't change my original point. Ward Thurman are not in the same situation.
Bute ducked out of Super Six and Ward won that tournament so its not Ward's problem. Bute had the notion he could just fight the winner and if he wins he can capitalize on their success by just one fight.
Whats the best name on Bute's resume? Bika?
Bute was not invited to compete in the tourney. He was a belt holder and the top fighter available for ward at 168 after he beat froch and also brought in good money. Ward should have clearly fought him

This is universe's apart from Ward. Ward absolutely cleaned out 168 and is now trying to cherrypick
A) a fighter he's already beaten in Froch.
B) A no-hoper in Chavez jr.
C)A middleweight in Golovkin.
Thurman is in one of boxing's hottest divisions and is being ducked like the plague. Not in the same vicinity at all.

I swear I hate every single person that says this crap about a fighter. From GGG, to Ward, to Mayweather, now Thurman.
I agree if he makes 147 he fights 147. Just cause he cant get a fight right now doesn't mean he should move up to find fights and give away some of his advantages when he hasn't even had a crack at the title yet at 147. Hios time will come no need to rush him up.
Please go on ahead and explain the bold, if you will.
Have a quick look through the video where he is going off on one at Paulie at a post fight interview, absolutely no need for that behaviour, he comes across as an obnoxious prick who needs an attitude adjustment.
At his height there is no real need to move upto 154 however I do feel this whole people ducking him bullish*t is just an excuse and there are some people in the 147lbs division who could really expose this loudmouth thug.

This is no different in ppl insisting in Andre Ward to move up. If that is their weight is were they should fight at

Thurman is just another hype job waiting to be exposed. But I think he'll finally get decent pay before he does. He almost got exposed by slow turtle moving Karass. You can imagine if Karass was just a tad faster.
Taking a big shot, not going down and winning every round is your idea of almost getting 'exposed'?

You're delusional and clearly a Thurman fanboy. Canelo would spank Thurman into early retirement. The fight wouldn't even be fair. Canelo is the young star in these weight divisions and Thurman is just a big puncher that can only impress against much weaker punchers. Canelo would be able to eat Thurman's best punches but I doubt Thurman would be able to eat Canelo's best. The fight wouldn't last 6 rounds between these two and Canelo would mess him up worse in those 6 rounds than he did Angulo.
Wtf does that mean? What bearing does that have in a fight?? Wasn't Broner also a "young star"??
I think a few 154 fighters would give Thurman a hard time, Canelo isn't one of them.
Lara, the Charlos and Andrade could give him problems.
Andrade use to box Thurman's ears off as amateurs, beat him easily in the Olympic qualifiers
