I noticed every time someone talks about Floyd on his legacy everyone brings up him ducking certain fighters. I'm no fan of Floyd outside the ring, but i love watching his style. Also i don't really care if you criticize Floyd because his antics outside the ring deserve it. But i will defend him in one aspect being non-bias is him ducking. I think Floyd is in boxing more for the money, and its obvious as when he was young he called out everybody that would give him a big pay day.
Stating he would move to 147 to fight Mosley and Delahoya when he was still at 130, prince Naseem to move up from 126.
If Floyd called them out but they didn't respond, didn't they duck him?
Oscar at 154 wasn't a cheery pick either in my opinion because Oscar ever fought Floyd back then because he was a nobody. Oscar also was the one in charge not Floyd. Oscar made Floyd move to 154 choose the glove size and ring size. The same thing Pacquiao tried to do with Floyd with the weight, ring size and gloves.
Obliviously now that Floyds on top he might take easier opponents but back then when he was at 130 to 140 i believe he would of fought all the top names that made money.
what part of "health comes first" don't you get. mayweather will never take a risky fight, that's why many label him as a cherry picker.
2nd, he fights for the money. he'd beat up the mother of his children just to save a few bucks

ODH, Shane, cotto and manny all did the same thing-refuse to fight floyd until it wouldn't hurt their earning potential if they lost. The only posters who question this are fans of these fighters or posters that hate floyd.
:pat:  :haha: Floyd fans are funny!
Oscar - Quartey, Tito, Mosley 1, Mosley 2, Whitakar, Vargas, Hopkins
Mosley - Oscar 1 & 2, Vernon Forrest 1 & 2, Winky Wright 1 & 2, Vargas 1 & 2, Cotto, Margarito
Cotto - Mosley, Margarito 1 & 2, Manny, Clottey (Trout, Martinez AFTER Floyd)
Manny - Morales 1, 2, 3, Barrera, Ledwaba, Marquez 1, 2, 3, 4, Cotto, Oscar, Margarito, Bradley 1 & 2, Clottey, ....
I think the people he would have not fought in 147 or 154 was Paul Williams and Sergio but Cotto and Pac both ducked Sergio too, he called all 3 out.
Pacquiao never fought in the same division as Paul Williams, whereas Floyd did. Suspiciously, Floyd retired from boxing when Paul Williams won a title by beating Margarito and returned when Williams had just moved up to middleweight.
It is true that Sergio had called out both Pacquiao and Floyd, but to my knowledge Sergio never offered Pacquiao the 80/20 split to fight at 150 offer. Pacquiao has fought at 150 once. It could be argued that after that one fight he decided not to fight there anymore. Floyd, on the other hand, fought at 154 on 3 occasions, twice after Martinez offered to fight him there.
I don't blame Floyd for most of his recent fights, but I do blame him for Maidana. It's a complete mismatch and everyone knows it. It's a combination of a guy who isn't anywhere near Floyd's level and is a terrible match up style wise. It's an utter waste of time - the best anyone can say about it is that he's not Amir Khan.
But I don't think that one fight makes him guilty of ducking people overall. Mosley might have been past his best, but it was at least a fight people had at one time wanted to see, same with Cotto. Alvarez and Guerrero are actually really good fighters. Ortiz not so much.
While I don't agree with the business side of boxing as it mainly serves the promoters and not the fans, the reality is that when fighters are new and starting out, the general process is
1- that they fight a string of bums to pave their records and give themselves experience, then-
2-they want to fight everyone reputable to make a name for themselves, and finally once they make a name for themselves-
3-they become complacent because they have reached a level of business as opposed to what they started the sport for-legacy and they realize that they are 1 loss from taking a paycut or losing a degree of relevance or a claim at being the best.
Cash and promoters have corrupted and raped this sport dry.
I never questioned that he fought good fighters. Just question if he ever fought the greatest fighters.
Only opponent that literally impressed me was Canelo as of recent years. Rest were aged or obvious mismatches. IMO.
He doesn't take risks.
Canelo would've been a great win, but Floyd messed that up with his CW fiasco. The CW wasn't even necessary.

number 9 maidana! remember when floyd fans said floyd couldn't fight #1 margarito because he lost years earlier to santos at 154...wat happened! maidana lost to devon alexander a lil while ago but floyd can still fight him because hes #9! amnesia strikes again.
Just wondering who you have ahead of Maidana?
floyd fans don't really know anything about boxing or facts. they are pretending that 23 year old floyd wanted to fight oscar? oscar was at 147 when floyd was at 130. then he was at 154 when floyd was at 135. floyd was going to move up 3 divisions to fight him? on what planet...
The same one where he was going to jump up a few weight classes and fight Winky Wright.
Marcos Maidana- WBA Champ, #5 Welter, Coming off his biggest win
Canelo Alvarez- WBC/WBA Champ, #1 Jr. Middle, Coming off his biggest win
Robert Guerrero- WBC Interim, #3 Welter, Coming off his biggest win
Miguel Cotto- WBA Champ, #1 Jr. Middle,Coming off the win he wanted the most
Victor Ortiz- WBC Champ, #3 Welter, Coming off his biggest win
Shane Mosley- WBA Champ, #1 Welter, Coming off his biggest win in years
keep on ducking and cherry picking Floyd, you aint shit homie...shoulda fought Brandon Rios or Marquez!
"all belts do is collect dust," Where were/are most of these guys ranked p4p?
Who is number 1 fighting? Number 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 20, 30?
The guy in your sig fights brandon rios , antonio margarito after TKO to shane, has went life and death with marquez , lost to erik morales after erik was coming of a loss himself , faught Floyds leftovers in Mosley , De La Hoya and Hatton . Manny Pacquiao is just a hype job.
Who is number 1 fighting? Number 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 20, 30?
Hes fought number 2,3 and 4 and still got hate. Cause it isnt who "they"want. "They" think he shouldnt be number 1 bur he is number 1 and itshated on.

This dolt still trying to act like a De La Hoya-Mayweather fight was viable years earlier. :dunce:

When "your guy or team" isnt number 1 then the hate will flow. And floyd has been number 1 for years
Who is number 1 fighting? Number 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 20, 30?
i'm only looking for certain opponents
i don't fight to prove who's best
what if i lose?
if he wanted to fight all those guys you said why didn't he offer them a fight, a contract, anything instead of empty words? he was happy to fight bums on hbo. at least with pac he tried to beat the ducking rumors to the punch by pretending to negotiate before being exposed when he got everything he wanted and still wouldn't fight. now he doesn't work with top rank lol.
Who cares what he says now the point is back then when was 23 i don't think he knew he would would be this big. Thats why the risk of moving up and fighting elite fighters was worth the reward. Same reason why a lot of fighters now want to fight Floyd the MONEY!! Every person hasn't fought some one. I think the people he would have not fought in 147 or 154 was Paul Williams and Sergio but Cotto and Pac both ducked Sergio too, he called all 3 out.
Same Pac who didn't fight Mosley because Mosley didn't wanna drain himself to 142.
Also its on youtube Roach during the Rios fight conference admitted the 1st fight was there fault to why it didn't happen. Maybe they changed there mind and Floyds avoiding now but the point is Floyd gets to much hate, i could breakdown a lot of fighters resumes of who ducked when and who.
