Solis threw more flashy combinations, but was sooo inactive versus a SSSLLLLOOOOWWWW TT. He clearly had the hand speed advantage from round 1 but gave the fight away. I'd say solis lost the fight more than Thompson won, piss poor fight though.
Didnt catch the fight... Thompson won? Are you ****ing kidding me?
Solis is an ATG waste of talent. He and Riddick Bowe should get lunch.
Yup, probably thinking about lunch and dinner throughout the fight
Thompson won.
I had it 117-111, giving one close round to each boxer. The closest I could have scored it is 116-112 Thompson, giving both close rounds to Solis.
Solis was too inactive, Thompson landed a lot more.
At the end of the fight, Solis' face was badly bruised, Thompson's face was virtually unmarked.
Vitali just took another fighters soul, lol

Bowe may have been a waste of talent, but he was heavyweight champion of the world. Solis doesn't even deserve to eat at the same table with him.
No. But I think he would've if he had one ounce of true fire in him. He just does this as a j-o-b though. This is not a passion for him. He does it because it's what he's schooled in and talented at. I'll never expected Solis to do anything now. Leading up to Vitali I thought maybe but he just doesn't have that special drive in him. Waste. Did not win, did not deserve to win, did not dig deeper to get a win. End of.
Some thoughts I agree with in this thread, but this post is the one I like best.
I didn't watch the fight, nor do I care if Solis "won" or not. The fact that he even had trouble with a 42 year old who was never special himself speaks volumes. Solis needs to disappear from boxing.
I did not score it but I felt Thompson won because he was more active. There were a few rounds in which Solis turned it up and he won those rounds clearly, but that was "only" in about 4 rounds.
dead serious i thought solis won ... but it was to close... solis was throwing harder more snap ... thompson was throwing like angulo was against canelo lol solis is a waste of talent weigh in 250s dude should around 230 knee injury really sidetracked his whole career ... but yea i thought solis won as well .. but who cares

Solis won.
I had my card at 7 rounds to 5 for Solis and to answer an earlier post I had Solis up 3 - 1 after four (1st round to Thompson).
All I saw Thompson do was push out the laziest arm-punch jab over and over which was blocked by the gloves 99 percent of the time. I gave him the rounds where Solis did absolutely nothing.
Definitely a frustrating night for Solis, but he should have gotten the win. This does however, prove in my eyes that he wouldn't beat Wlad, as TT proved that a tall fighter with a consistent jab can keep Solis off them.
Did anyone else have Solis winning the fight?
I thought tony t clearly won it although neither looked imnpressive by any means. at least the tiger has an excuse being 42 yrs old. solis is just a fat lazy waste of talent
Nope you seem to be the only one. Congrats you are an unique individual!
I'm not unique if one of the judges scored it for Solis too, and by the same margin, I should add.
Unfortunately, you are not a unique individual: there are plenty of a*sholes in the world.
Tony the Tiger won that fight, man. Let it go.
Let it go? That was my first post on the issue. Besides, this is a boxing forum, where boxing is discussed. Many other close fights have been discussed (Marquez vs Pacquiao, Canelo vs Trout, Garcia vs Herrera, etc.) I don't see why this fight should be an exception.
I'm not claiming it was a robbery, but the judges themselves must have thought it was close to score it the way they did. I scored it for Solis because of the countless clean blows he landed. It would be a shame for Solis to retire because of a fight he wasn't even convincingly beaten in. It's also a shame that we're going to have another instalment of Wlad vs Thompson. I can't imagine too many are rubbing their hands in anticipation of that.
