200k woud be more than 90% less than his last fight. yes he was the b side but he was only the 2nd b side in history to do above 2 mil. that can't be good if you are GBP or Canelo. What is considered "good" is anytime the PPV buys exceed cost to the point where each subsequent buy is free money. So figure the promotion, site fee, etc. Let's say the magic number is 90,000 buys and they do 125,000. I don't think the actual viewing audience means anything from a purely numerical standpoint.

His last fight doesnt really have much to do with it. I know Floyd was involved but that doesnt dictate everything. That was a fantastic card so a lot was in play so the 90% figure is really just a gross generalization. The scheduling of upcoming events carries much more weight.

Just ahead of 3 upcoming PPV fights with the top 3 draws in the sport I would be happy with 200K. I would disagree purely from Canelo's perspective. As a boxing fan, I think anything above 200k is good for someone headining their first ppv. But most fighters don't get the #1 ppv star in their 1st ppv fight. For Canelo to go from being the b side (a very strong b side at that) in a 2+ mil ppv selling fight to 200k in his next fight as the headliner is not good IMO. It suggests he didn't retain any fans (and possibly lost some) following the floyd fight. Gotta think GP and Canelo expect a better number. Hopefully it will do well north of 300k. Probably 25k. I'm glad I streamed this ****. Crappy undercard and a fixed stoppage in the main event. Yeah I feel robbed of 60. I caved in at the last minute. Main event was pretty bizarre on Angulos part on the undercard was a let down.

The Showtime PPV was 60 in HD. only cost around 15 each though so its really not that big of a deal. Get some friends guys :lol1:

found this on forbes: Alvarez will bank around $6 million if the fight can attract 300,000 PPV buys says Schaefer. With expenses already covered at that point, Canelos payday will soar if a bigger audience tunes in. Another 100,000 PPV buys means another $2 million for Alvarez after the distributors and Showtime take their cut. Schaefer thinks the fight will come in around 350,000 buys, but says he wouldnt be surprised to see it climb to 500,000.
