each fighters' signature punch, mayweather's right and pacquiao's left.
mayweather throws the right hand lead like a dart, always on target but doesn't over extend himself. it does some damage but is not lethal.
pacquiao's left lead is like a piston firing, can knock down a guy even if it's block. it's super quick and comes without warning.
that said, i think mayweather's right is a microsecond faster but is not as powerful.
your thoughts?
Pacquiao got a quicker left, it's a shorter punch too.
Mayweather is just a smarter fighter with more reach as well thats why he's better.
Pacquiao has world class offense, Mayweather is world class at a lot of things just not really offense.
hard to say, i think floyds may be a bit faster but its marginal. the real difference is in power, timing and accuracy. power obviously being on the side of pacquiao while timing and accuracy is in floyds favor. floyd is smarter too, has a better understanding of how to set it up and when to throw it.
This is pretty much exactly what I would say. Although I would flip it over and have Manny as the marginally faster one.
But yeah, Manny is purely speed while Floyd has a quickness to him that is more based off of timing and being incredibly accurate. It is hard to say though, and I agree with you, just flipped over!
manny is better than floyd in everything except being a coward. Floyd is the best at that!
hahah ya right . The only thing hes better than floyd at is getting knocked the **** out !!
Manny's seems a little faster, but way easier to read, so if we are talking about pure speed, Manny. Floys is not really noticable slower, and the fact that he has better timing, and trickier angles makes his more effective and dangerous. Even though Manny has a slight speed advantage it's not enough to outweigh Floyd's straight right.
Floyd's great timing
agreed. against faster opponents pac still throws 4-5 punches even if he only connects 1 out of those 4-5, as compare to floyd who sits back and waits and then throw 1 which usually always land, making it look like floyd is faster when in reality timing is the key.
Marquez was consistently ducking under manny's left and coming back with a counter right uppercut as early as the first fight
He never threw the lead shot that often until dlh
Lead left vs lead right? Does Manny really throw lead left hands? Doesn't he usually have to set his left hand up to throw it? At least when he uses it as a straight left. He throws lead left hooks but I don't ever remember him throwing lead straight lefts. I would pick Floyd only because whenever he actually throws his straight right hands he will hit you 9/10. But I think that is because a combination of accuracy, speed and timing. Its hard to tell.
A refined and relaxed Manny throws lead lefts like in the 1st Bradley fight...
Under stress, like in the last two JMM fights, he reverts back to jab-jab-straight left which JMM is so use to he can counter in between punches.
Manny is better than Floyd in everything except being a coward. Floyd is the best at that!
I swear some of you are like 11 year old girls obsessed with Bieber. Get a grip.
That said, it's a tricky question. Floyd, five years ago, he was faster, but now I'm not so sure. He's slowed quite a lot, but then so has Pac I guess.
Pac's is more powerful, but I do think he's been throwing it for speed and accuracy more than power now.
I think Floyd's might still be a touch faster, but they throw it so differently. Pac's combinations are faster, but I think Floyd might still have the faster single shot, even now. One thing I have noticed is that sometimes Pac doesn't look quite so fast against someone else who is fast also, whereas Floyd tends to look fast against everyone. I think that's because Pac throws in combination which slows us shots a bit, while Floyd throws fast single shots, thrown purely for speed and accuracy. Pac seems to be going down that route more and more, but he'll always throw more combos.

i think u got manny confused with his brother bobby?? LOL
you sniffin glue? when manny threw the lead left at marquez, marquez gets owned, well, atleast in 3 and 4
do you mean their earlier fights? maybe there, but i dont remember
In all of them besides the 4th where Marquez looked considerably slower in comparison to the 3rd fight. Who else feints and makes Pacquiao miss/ overcommit the way Marquez has? Stupid question to ask....
Pacquaio throws his using his legs trying to get force behind it Mayweather doesn't throw his body into his lead right is like a slap in the face to humiliate the opponent and tear him down mentaly
oh ok so it was a toss up fight. now tell me, what happened to pacs left hand as the fight went on? u saw the fight, in the beginning he was landing it at will. why did that change?
what? pacquiao lands when he throws, esspecially with the lead left, by the middle rounds 5-6 pacquiao basically shut down momentarily(pulled a tim bradley) got clocked and dominated, although he did wake up after taking a heavy shot and would come back with good lead lefts and right hooks, but not enough to take the rounds
after those 2-3 rd's(5-6/7) the fight went to being fairly close and pacquiao if i remember right as was using his lead left more and more, trying uppercuts(alot of the stuff he tried in the 4th fight actually) etc, being all round more aggressive
would have to rewatch the fight to go into more detail, about how i remember it, dont remember marquez countering his lead lefts, pacquiao got fed fient after fient and very little punches from marquez and went into that shell where he just walks forward and blocks punches for awhile
thought it was a toss up fight, had pacquiao just edging it personally, can't remember the scores

ok how did u score that fight? i wanna get this out of the way first.
