I've been lurking a lot of recent Maidana threads, and a majority of posters are counting Chino out.
"This is gonna be another Guerrero fight." one poster said.
Another poster said, "Maidana is just a smaller version of Canelo."
What people should know is that Marcos Maidana is a bigger puncher than Saul Alvarez and Victor Ortiz, according to Josesito Lopez.
"Out of all those guys, Maidana unquestionably has the hardest single punch." said Lopez, who fought Victor Ortiz, Canelo Alvarez, and Marcos Maidana.
Not only does Maidana hit harder than Canelo and Ortiz, but Chino also throws more punches than those guys -- way more punches.
Think about that, fellas.
Can a pot shot and clinch stop Maidana? Marcos perfectly embodies a bull; his face kind of resembles one and so does his fighting style.
Man, if Chino ices Floyd 90% of boxingscene members will have to crawl under their rocks and stay there for a long time. Seems that after the Broner fight they still dont get that at the end of the day boxing is about two people in a ring punching each other and not some fking chess match. :lol1:
Just like the other poster I mentioned, you called it. Good prediction.
We're in the ten percentile of NSB. You, me, Syf, Nicolino, Loaded Wraps, The Tase, and many others who saw Maidana.
One thing is for sure Madonna dont give a shiiiiiitttt about Floyd and his boxing status and is going to disrespect him like a prostitute. Madonna won't win but Floyd better be running all night cause Madonna is bringing the pain
Good prediction, bro. Nail on the head.
Marco vs Floyd is a 50/50 fight
Watch Marco knock Floyd out...you heard it here first. If Floyd is ever worry about his health it should be this one.

People don't get it or they never been in a ring. They think it's easy to throw bombs for twelve rounds. What Chino does is extremely difficult. Some say he just has power, Man this is boxing! is like saying, yeah Bolt, he sucks, he only has fast legs. The easy (and sometimes dumb) thing to do, is always to pick the fighter with better skills and underrate power, because it is a damn decisive factor in boxing.
I have much respect for you as a poster.
Completely disagree with the bold, and not sure how the being patient has any advantage to Maidana.
Floyds very mentally strong. Also strength doesn't mean punching power....Floyd was showing to be stronger than even Canelo in being able to push him around. Maidana hit's hard but can be out muscled inside ala Alexander.
I think the better question is are people underrating Maidanas chances vs Floyd......the answer is no. Maidana has very very little chance of beating Floyd....the same could be said about just about anyone though. I'm not sure what makes you think he'll be harder than guerrero, canelo, cotto, ortiz, hatton, jmm, mosley or any other opponent recently.... Maidana isn't a bad fighter, but he is nowhere near the level of Floyd. He's weaker, slower, less stamina, worse ring IQ, not as mentally strong, flat footed, not as mobile, and generally not as patient as Floyd. The only edge he has is power and when weighing the options...that isn't much to bank on.

Age does catch up with everyone. Sooner or later somoene Floyd would have dealt with some ease in his best years will defeat him simply because his body just wont be able to keep up.
No. He's smarter now.. but also less athletic. Which is key. Thing is a Jesus Chavez grueling grinding rough rugged type of style is exhausting for a boxer. I find it hard to believe a 38 year old Mayweather can stay on his toes for 12 rounds against a guy that is committed to the body, walking through Mayweather's shots, and throwing over a thousand punches. Eventually even the great May will become leg weary and be forced to stand his ground and pit his frame against Marcos's onslaught. THATS where things will get very interesting.

I give Floyd credit for accepting the fight, period. Maidana's form has been impressive lately. Problem is there are too many perusers of dusty old footage that dont realize the world aint static, its dynamic. Same goes for Maidana. What you knew about him 4 years ago has changed. Get with the learning curve or get left behind.
"Pure boxer enthusiasts, floyd worshippers, some floyd haters, Broner fans, AND Khan fans all got something against Maidana, for different reasons." - Syf
so which are you?
God, I love you Syf. <3

Bravo! Bravo! 10/10 Excellent post, my friend.
if anything, this thread proves he's underrated. i don't see how a dude that's expected to be ko'd by body shot every fight or styled on by a slick bruh'va can be overrated.
You are a level-headed poster. Thank you.
Many posters here are troll tier with their extreme reply-evoking posts. They can't be taken seriously. There's a smug matter-of-fact way they express themselves. It's sickening and making me not like this place so much.
However, posters like you, Syf, The Tase, and the others keep me here. Thank you, friend.
Just look at the disgraceful results of this poll. Maidana is crazy underrated. Pure boxer enthusiasts, floyd worshippers, some floyd haters, Broner fans, AND Khan fans all got something against Maidana, for different reasons.
These are the same pukes that picked lopez and broner to outbox him. And if they are old enough, they picked Ortiz over him too. By definition, a fighter that proves a bunch of know nothing know it alls wrong every time out is UNDERRATED. he is used to the underdog slot though its all good.
I think it's this... A lot of older boxing fans have a prejudice against the brawling style.
The fact that Maidana is world class with his style tells you a lot about his God-given talent as a fighter. He's a natural.
For some reason, Chino has been usually underestimated. This explains that kind of misleading new view about Broner, who just yesterday was the next Mayweather and, after he lost to Chino, has become almost a bum.
They say Chino proved Broner was not the next Mayweather. Well, maybe he will prove Mayweather is not Muhammad Ali...
Not at all the case here. Criticism of Broner was marked before he even stepped in the ring with Maidana on this forum. Most everyone knew he was flatfooted and nothing like Mayweather in any sense barring his misuse/overuse of the Philly Shell.
over hand right is what will get floyd.
over hand right.
mark my words. over hand right will catch floyd.
Overhand rights are bad for your health.
Bang! on the chin.

yes he is.
but that's because its typical nsb bullsh*t. Since floyd is fighting him he has to be trashed by the ptards and stricly floyd haters.
I guarantee you maidana will stun or hurt floyd at least once come their fight and has a great chance of knocking down maybe knocking out floyd.
He murders prime hatton.
Green k for an excellent poster WHO DOESN'T BLINDLY FOLLOW THE HERD! Thank you, my friend!! <3 ^_^ *peace sign*
You really think this is the same fighter he is today ?
