Do you think it's SHOTIME and Golden Boy or HBO and Top Rank who have been faring better over the last year? In terms of finances, entertainment value, compelling match ups, and fan reception - what do you think?
Nobody is 'winning', everybody is losing, especially us fans.
I wish people would stop picking sides and unite to end this BS. Enough is enough, this must be the only sport out there where the best can't compete against the best. It's pathetic and needs to end.
Viewers wise HBO look to be ahead.
Alexander v Porter co-headlined with Malignaggi v Judah. That's 3 decent names there. And they had less views than the much criticised Guilermo Rigondeaux against Joseph Agbeko the same night.

I think it speaks more about the popularity of the network rather than the fighters.
Since I don't have access to their books I assume it's about a tie. Neither side seems the least bit worried about it. If they were losing much money because of it I think they would try to end it and that does not seem to be happening.
Showtime is winning by a decent amount. HBO is catching up with Martinez Cotto doe.
Maybe the Cold war is better for the sport lol, I still eould like to see it end
The fans, in a way.
No more crap fights as TR and HBO are forced to keep up with the quality of GBP and Showtime.
TR PPV still suck though but im in 10%
Since the beginning of 2012, Shotime has dominated HBO (outside of this Top Rank Golden Boy thing). I might even say that NBCSports and HBO are about even. HBO has been consistently showing 1 and 2 fight cards. Shotime has shown 3-4 fights on a card. We get to see rising stars on Shotime, wow on HBO we are force fed fighters who they want us to like. Here is the best example I can give you, ShoBox the New Generation, this was the fight card

I became a fan of all Del Valle, Pedraza, Tommy Gun (and I even became a fan of Gil Garcia). This was one of the best nights of boxing for me that year. HBO will show one fight and the ppv from last week and thats all we get.
I would say Showtime, they have gained on HBO a lot over this period.
As for GBP and Top Rank I wold say GBP is ahead at the moment but boxing promotion is a fickle business and the shoe could totally be on the foot in fairly short order (or it could shift even more to GBP who knows)
Showtime over HBO big given how HBO just gave Showtime GBP who they helped build
GBP over Top Rank small
GBP will only win when Mayweather retires.
Right now they're too focus on Mayweather's fights.
In reality, GBP is really not making much because
they have to support him with strong undercards.
Most of the profits go to Haymon and Mayweather.
Even Showtime subscribers are getting ripped off.
Regular fights are very rare. PPVs are not for subscribers.
When's the last time you saw Bernstein and others
on regular fights?
What an absolute joke of a thread...
You mustn't care much for the sport if you feel either side needs to 'win' more so than ease conflict..
Neither are going to come out of it any better, it's going to be up and down, up and down.
