Could Amir Khan be Mayweather's Ken Norton

Ken Norton was never a World Champion. Khan is beyond that and not some one hit wonder. Your arguments hide from the one thing that matters; how do the people feel and how are they remembered. Your arguments hide from the one thing that matters; how do the people feel and how are they remembered. One is the guy who had Ali's number, the other is synonymous with "glass jaw". Khan is a guy who has already over achieved given his chin. If it was someone else they would just win a belt and hide. Also Khan was good on more than one occasion. Khan will be remembered as a warrior who had a glass chin, but even then tried to seek out tough challenges.

I feel like Amir Khan possesses the tools to make Mayweather look bad -- A+ hand speed, elite foot speed, power, heart, and experience. Khan's weakness is punchers. Mayweather is not a puncher, so Khan should be comfortable in the exchanges and just in general. Also, Mayweather's lateral movement is not as good as Erislandy Lara's. It's not as sharp and he doesn't cover as much distance as Lara does in one step while maintaining balance and readiness to punch. Don't get me wrong. I am a Mayweather fan, but something tells me Khan is Ken Norton to Mayweather's Muhammad Ali. If the Khan that stopped Zab Judah shows up against Mayweather, I am placing a bet on him. Erislandy Lara would probably be Mayweather's toughest fight at this point, Mayweather's footwork is a bit sloppy at times against southpaws. Lara's constant movement, speed, height and reach advantage would force Mayweather to make major adjustments mid-fight. Prime Martinez would have beat him and even if they were to fight now at 160 it would be a great fight.

I've always said Kahn would be a problem for Mayweather because he tags and gets out. Floyd doesn't chase after guys so it would be easy for him to end up being down on points. People would call it a cheap win for Kahn but it would be a win none the less.

Too early to say, but I'd love to see this match up in future but Khan needs to look good against Collazo in beating him.

Lara hasn't been in the ring with anyone close to Floyds level He beat Williams, who Floyd would have lost to, which is why he retired. To answer the question posed by the OP - no, because Norton was good.

Mayweather is not a big puncher, but he is a good puncher and i think he could hurt and more than likely stop Khan.
