Just came across this article - had a brief look on here and seems no-one picked up on this or didn't make a thread? I apologise for any duplicate if I am wrong.
Anyway - would these matchups be good? Garcia v Pacman while Arum still has him in his stable or v Loma if he beats Salido?
Here’s what Arum has to say about Mikey fighting Pacquiao and Lomachenko:
“Does it take him up in weight to 135 or 140 then a fight with Pacquiao or does it take him to a tremendous confrontation with Lomachenko if Lomachenko proves himself with Orlando Salido and goes forward. Will he be as successful in the pros and if he is will Mikey Garcia be his biggest fight? A lot can happen so we go one fight at a time. – whether he goes up, stays at 130 – that’s going to depend on what’s happening in boxing. He mentioned to some that down the road he would look forward to a fight with Manny Pacquiao. I am a big Mikey Garcia fans and I thought that would be good.”

So even though he only had 1 fight at 130 it is a better fight then Khan??? and you are serious?
Being real here, I'd pick Mikey to stop Khan and I'm not oblivious to the bold :lol1:
I know it's not a reliable source most of the time, the writers are contributors I think, with their own personal agendas mainly. But, since it had a quote from Arum thought I had to throw it in as per rules. Anyhow, the fight is stupid yes, and when Arum says hes a 'big fan' of Garcia and floats ideas like this - more like big fan of his Hispanic market fan base which he would milk by somehow putting this forward as a legit fight, ONLY shot for Mikey would be down the line if Pac was shot to pieces. The Loma fight could/should be good if it happens though.
It's a well known fact that all of the writers from boxing****24 are the same two people. None of those writers exist - FACT. All of them are actually David Rosenberg and Eddy Pronishev of ****sideboxing. It's common sense. The same articles appear on both sites, nearly identical, under different aliases. And they often fabricate quotes and facts.
If they fought tomorrow. I'll pick khan I haven't seen Mickey above 130 jump to weigh classes to fight a guy like PAC is just sad get real man
Im with you on that no doubt khan wins Tomorrow but i was saying if he was in the same weight class as in built for it and already had a few fights there manny puts mikey down thats a whole notha' level boy

You bring up a valid point and one I can understand. However, I'm judging them as individuals based on their skill set alone. In all honesty, neither fights can be justified at this moment; neither have done enough to warrant a legit shot at either Mayweather or Pacquiao.
However, if one of these was to be thrown at us, I'd rather have it be Pacquiao-Garcia due to the fact Garcia has an actual solid skill set to work with when he steps into that ring. He has the talent to make it an interesting fight.
This pretty much. He is more skilled and more fundamentally sound, Mikey is a very solid fighter. He has a world class toolset to work with and improve on.
So weight no longer means anything?
the boy has uniform by the book skills there's no denying mikey if he was in khans weight class he would be another name that would have put him to sleep

Without question Mikey Garcia is better. Khan has some of the worst fundamentals you'll ever see of any world class fighter. While Garcia has his flaws, he is much more skilled.

The article you cited is from a troll website that goes out of its way to talk badly about boxers. But anyway, it is true that Arum has floated this idea. It is absolutely ridiculous. Garcia has too much business to take care of at 130-140. In addition, rushing him up in weight to put him in with Pacquiao will just ruin him. This is a pathetic act of desperation if it actually happens.
