No, he is a good trainer but Maidana deserves most of the credit. Rios performed very poorly and he was also trained by Garcia.

He's had his ups and downs. I can't really put Donaire's performance against Rigondeaux on Garcia since they barely worked together at all. Donaire though didnt look much better against Darchinian when they did work together more. Rios went 0-2. Mikey Garcia has become a rising star, Evgeny Gradovich won a title, and Maidana put together two good wins.

Robert is doing very well. If you look at is as you shoudl, as a trainer, all things considered he's doign very well. Sure, Rios lost, but then again he wetn against Pacman and I think Robert Garcia didnt everythign he coudl with what he had to work with. Maidana's motivation against Lopez and the smart game plan against Broner gets him the award IMO.

If I remember correctly, Roach wasn't in Ruslan's corner during the fight with Alvarado. I could be wrong though. No he wasn't but he trained him for the fight. Freddie left a couple days before the Ruslan fight to train Pacquiao in the Phillipines

Nah. Roach or Angel Garcia do. Honorable mention is Joel Diaz I was gonna say Diaz too. He is a good trainer and has great advice in the corner....has Bradley, Kavanagh, Mares, and Figueroa in his stable. I know Mares got KO'd but many people had them on their P4P lists prior to that fight.

I say Roach because of the Ruslan fight mostly. Pacquiao was going to beat Rios on his worst day so it didn't have much to do with Roach. Garcia has one good win this year and Rios Alvarado 2 they had no gameplan. Angel Garcia because everyone on here was picking Lucas to murder Danny Boy. Do you guys think Garcia deserves trainer of the year after Saturdays win? Doesn't he also train Donaire who got smashed by Rigo and Rios who got smashed by Pac? I think Mikey is his best fighter right now.

Why Roach? Angel only has one fighter and although Danny is a stud I'd pick Floyd Sr over Angel in that case. Good shout to Diaz. He had a good year with chino and he played a big part in Maidana's performance and obviously his strategy. The opposite with Rios who disappointed in the Alvarado rematch showing no ability to adjust. Obviously he was going to lose to Pacquiao but expected something different from Rios with Garcia in his corner. Mikey was so far above his opponents talent wise it's hard to give him much credit. At the end of the day he should be considered because of his name but shouldn't win.

nah ... robert sucked in the rios vs alvarado rematch , in the pac vs rios fight ( i forgive him for that) and in the maidana fight , chino did'nt follow what he wanted him to do most of the time .. al berstein even acknowledged this ...
