James Kirkland vs Curtis Stevens

Stevens by ko imo. I feel bad for kirkland cuz he really can't be more than a live dog against any decent opposition. Even when they put him in with a guy who can't punch to build his confidence...he got stopped. Short of fighting lower level opposition for no money he really has no other option then to sacrifice his personal health and longevity. A shame cuz at one point he was considered a good prospect.

So everybody agree its not a good fight for Kirkland so let do Kirkland vs Clottey on Canelo/Cotto undercard

Stevens by stoppage if it happens. No way Kirkland's chin can hold up. Would be a fun short fight though.

For all the sh1t people give Oscar, I sure wish you appreciate his match making. If dude could make Stevens/Kirkland fight that would be a bloody battle of wills. Props Golden Boy every time people count you out you keep proving them wrong, respect....

Most likely Stevens. He's got a big counter punch when he can land and Kirkland will be plowing away giving him plenty of chances. Don't think Kirkland will be able to effectively stuff Stevens to the point where his counter punches won't be effective

stevens easy....kirklands not hard 2 hit n stevens have got that once punch ko power

Stevens is a very fast starter. Kirkland is not a defensive wizard and is vulnerable early. I see this as either a KO1 for Stevens, or if Kirkland makes it out of the first still on his feet, I see something like a mid rounds stoppage for him over Stevens.

Kirkland by KO. Stevens had the edge in boxing ability but he wouldn't be able to hang with James' pressure. Great matchup

It is a close fight to me. Stevens takes a punch better but off his last fight Kirkland has a higher work rate and seems to be a better all around fighter. Kirkland by KO.

I want to see Kirkland become a champion. I love to see him fight Demetrius Andrade.

Kirkland via KO in the 3rd round. He's gonna fight a boxer who's actually 2-3 inches shorter than him.

def would be a good one. kirkland would have to move up though. not sure stevens can go any lower.

I want to pick Stevens, but he doesn't look too good when being pressured. This is a firecracker of a bout and I hope HBO tries to make it happen.
