Just recently I was watching a few interviews on Youtube of Floyd and suffice to say he came across a massive pain in the backside.
He was bragging about his money, being disrespectful to other fighters and generally being quite ****y.
Part of me was laughing and thinking that hey this is all part of the promotion for a fight....he has a role to play as the 'bad guy' etc etc.
However I'm starting to think that perhaps that in fact he is actually like that in real life...quite sad to see someone let a few quid go to their head like that.
The reason I felt compelled to make this thread was moments earlier I stumbled across another video suggestion on youtube of Mike Tyson fighting a large, lumbering white guy called Sammy Scaff or Snaff and he destroyed his nose and ended the fight in the first round with a knockout...the moment the ref called the fight off Tyson ran across the ring to check on his opponent and looked genuinally concerned.
That precise moment I remembered the Ortiz incident and the lack of class shown by Floyd...:frown:
Somewhere I'm hoping that when he retires he will suddenly come out and say it was all an act and he was just behaving like that to promote the fight but the fear remains that he indeed actually IS a scumbag.
here's the long and short of it. With the persona Floyd exhibits outside the ring, he's nothing short of a tool. With the talent he exhibits inside the ring, he's nothing short of brilliant
This is precisely what's so infuriating about him...it's hard not to be impressed by his sublime defensive skills..not pretty or exciting to watch but very effective.
Who cares if he is?
This. I'm not sure why there are so many people that can't separate one's personal life and sports career. Who gives a sh.it if he's a douche? That's just my take. I've never disliked an athlete because of what they did in their personal life. I can care less; I don't know them personally.
You remember he served jail time for assaulting his girlfriend or ex-wife/baby mama or whoever? Or were you on Mars when all that was going on?
I also remember hearing about the altercation about the security guy but who knows what was really said...?
If its any consolation, what he does outside the ring is not really my concern.
So you really don't know what happened then?
I'm glad that what Floyd's does outside the ring isn't of concern to you though.
No he dosen't....Ricky Hatton was in Las Vegas to support his friend Amir Khan for a fight and he said Floyd 'practically ignored' him etc..which left Hatton very disappointed.
Recently we saw him taunting Oscar on the 'All Access' shows and disgustingly even mocked his current medical problems.
How is any of that respectful?
With 28 posts I'd call you a liar and an alt.
Sex & Drama sells $$$$$$$
U guys have to stop with these hate-Floyd thread's.
U can't judge someone for what they do if u can't relate to where they're coming from.
Have any of u guys grown up in a poor neighborhood? Does any of your mothers smoke crack? Are any of your dad's locked up? Most likely the answer is no! Well kids, that's what Floyd went through.
"Money," is a character made up to generate publicity and stir up drama, in the process people dislike him, they dislike him so much that they "buy" his PPV just to see him lose. This guy is a marketing genius!
All the Floyd haters that talk crap and despise him, are the same people that go out and buy his PPV & sit here and create threads talking about him. YOU FELL RIGHT INTO THE TRAP, ergo "Marketing Genius!"
Ever heard the saying, "keep talking $h!t about me you're making me famous?"
I met floyd in 2003 in vegas. he was real cool, took pics, talked. that was before he became "Money" Mayweather. He treats fans fine. Opponents, not so much.

I've been to Vegas a few times and I've never heard anybody say anything good about him. From people who work at the airport and hotels nobody seems to like him. Not that I've talked to many but the ones I have don't like him at all.
The man flies a private jet. I doubt people at the airport even see him.
he gives full respect to his opponents afyer he schools em.

Oh no not the Ortiz moment. . . Am I the only person who doesn't see this as not classless, sure it wasn't very sportsman like, but neither is head butting, What Ortiz done was worse IMHO
If u flipped the roles n Ortiz knocked Mayweather out everyone would say he deserved it.

How by calling Canelo a paper champion, that he manufactured during build up....
Then trolling him post ass whipping, after looking worse than any Floyd opponent since Baldomir, then saying your a true world champion...................http://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/skip1.png

I don't understand because he often talks about GOD etc and dosen't he realise he can't take that 300million with him when he passes away.
alot of people here think hes goat, i think the best fights we could of seen him in never happened thats why he dont get my vote. the welfare team can kiss my arse.
I wouldn't say he's the greatest of all time...not even close.
