In a recent poll conducted by ESPN's Sports Nation, Boxing fans were asked to vote on who they feel should be Floyd 'Money' Mayweather Jr's next foe? With nearly 40,000 votes tabulated thus far (the polling is still ongoing) a whopping 58% (really should come as no surprise) want Mayweather Jr. to face off against none other than the 'Pacman', Manny Pacquiao.
The next highest name on the list is Danny Garcia, and he pulled in 18% of the votes followed by Adrien Broner with 12%.
Amir Khan edged out of the last spot with 7% of the votes just coming in ahead of Miguel Cotto with 5%.
58% of the votes from a calculated 39,782 cast votes is a lot and speaks volumes that even to this day a majority of fans truly believe there is unfinished business between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.
And let's face it... if Mayweather vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has become the highest grossing PPV to this date (as the SHOWTIME press release sent out yesterday indicated it had)... I imagine Pacquiao vs. Mayweather can and would surpass #THEONE in terms of PPV sales.
So fans, if you still want Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, keep your voices heard... and at 58%, there is a lot of you.
First of all this is the biggest money fight for Floyd,...by far. Nothing would come close!! As far as the most competitive fight,..who knows??
We don't know what's left of Pacquiao at this point. We'll see what he looks like with Rios. He has to be out of this world good against Rios to get a Floyd superfight.
I feel Pacquiao and Floyd should happen in May of 2014. The sooner the better. Sooner is better because eventually someone will lose or their skills and physical attributes will diminish and the bout will lose it's relevance.
The "magic" of this matchup is really approaching the final stages of its relevance. I think it has another 6 months to a year to be made. After that,..screw it!!!
Pac will be 35 and May will be 37. Remember Hearns vs. Leonard??? Both of those guys were several years younger than Pac vs. Floyd,..and that one was arguably too late.
Yup still is the biggest fight out there. Hope it happens.
Him and his groupies don't give a **** because it is a terrible style matchup for Floyd, it would be like the first 4 rounds of Judah at a higher, relentless non stop intensity with a lot more power behind those punches. That shoulder roll isn't to effective against the straight left from a southpaw, let alone the fastest strongest straight left in the business :boxing:
This must be the reason why these flowmos don't want none of pac even if its the money fight every boxing fan still want to see.

Amen. As a boxing fan. We need to see this fight while Floyd still got it, and Pac if he toys Rios and puts on a good show for the boxing fans should show that these 2 still has it, and should fight ASAP while it is still relevant.
Why? Coz it still is the biggest fight ever.
This fight is a must see fight. I'm Scratching my head why these flowmos don't want anything to do with PAc. They say its an easy fight so it should be easy dollars right.. Seems they rather put roadblocks.. they see something we don't? They seem to think Pac is a scary mofo lol

Spoon i know you are a huge p@ctard..but seriously you dont lose 2 fights in a row,1 by ko(to a guy floyd himself gets 0 credit for toying with) then return and fight Rios(who was 1-1 at 140 and not even top 5 there) at ww..Manny hasn't fought a ranked ww period since 2011 and hasn't beaten a ww coming off of a win period since 2009...not hating just stating facts here..wondering why he is even still at ww
Well of course you're not hating, when have you ever done that..? :lol1:
if pac left arum and top rank...the fight could be made in 10 minutes...why do people ignore the fact that since floyd left arum in 2006, they have done zero business with each other and probably never will again...doesn't floyd still have that law suit pending for $600k against top rank?
Fighting Floyd would almost surely be a loss for Pacquiao at this point. I'm sorry to say.
It would have been a loss at any point. Everyone saying that Pac would lose now, but he looked great in his last fight before the kayo. Not like Floyd is gonna one punch Manny, he'll out box him like everyone else.
Arum would have to come way down on his price. I don't think he's ready to cash out on Pacquiao yet. Pac still might have a few good fights left in him. This might take place during Mayweathers last fight. Can't count Pacquiao out yet.
This might be right. I can see the fight happening in 2015, but with Top Rank match making Pac should be able to slaughter a few fringe guys. Pac doesn't have a style built to age well, though, and has quite a bit of mileage on him. I think 2015 is the safe bet.

We are not scared if Pac will lose!!! Pac wants to challenge Floyd, but Floyd don't want the challenge! Same as his Fans! Both are Cowards!
Waste of time talking about it. Even if Mayweather and Pacquiao agreed, you've got Arum/Mayweather/GBP and HBO/Showtime conflicts to sort out.
Agreed. Arum will not let it happen, add the fact the bad blood between him and Floyd. I see a Tyson-Lewis scenario, a huge event but lackluster fight.

Most real Mayweather fans (not *****s) wanted and still want to see the fight. It's an exciting match-up considering I don't see anyone else being competitive.

The thing Floyd would have to worry about (with a fresher Pac) is the judges.
I think Floyd might shell up a bit too much for their tastes
Yep, truth is, Pac hasn't declined as much as they like to believe, they don't want anyone talking that 0, even though it would give him his biggest payday he'll find another roadblock, he knows he won't win that's why he never took the fight, Ellerbe must have advised against it :alcoholic:dance:
And they say, Pac lost millions for not fighting Floyd. I say Floyd lost millions as well for not fighting PAc. It takes 2 to tango.
That said, HELLO people it still is THE MONEY FIGHT, the super fight. Make it happen so these guys can stop whining who is losing money for not fighting. Both can make more money. THey are both losing the opportunity to make money. No excuse Floyd, you want money this is the biggest fight that can be made as of to date.
I say if Floyd still ducks this fight when money is staring in his face. I call it as it is a duck move.
