Ok it shows he's earned 333 million in fight earnings since 2006(Baldomir)
So he has spent over 160 million dollars in the last 7 years??
I'm not sure how accurate these sources are but if it's true, damn! Folyd dont have much longer to use the name "money"
he'll be alright. rios-floyd in macau 2014 (rios is going to make a lot of azn fans for himself come the 23rd) for the biggest event in boxing. floyd will get a career high payday and he can live off that.
I'm a financial adviser to high net worth clients, believe me i understand this better than most. Overcoming ones psychology is the key to investing. The market (ASX200) is at 4,000 and you can count on one hand how many clients you can convince to invest excess cash or take out a loan to "gear" into shares, which with our system of franking credits (a tax credit on dvidends) and tax deductions on the interest becomes very tax effective on the top marginal rate.
The market goes up above 5,000, close to 30% up and all of a sudden the clients call you wanting to put more money in.
Having money in the bank, even here in Oz where you can still get an annualised rate of 4.2% is a negative real return proposition after inflation and taxes.
Welcome to the world of financial repression.
So, according to you, no one should ever keep money in a bank. They should invest all of their money. Do you think Oprah Winfrey has a few hundred million in the bank or does she invest all of her money in stocks, bonds, etc? What about Warren Buffet? Is his checking account overdrawn every month because he invests all of his billions of dollars in Berkshire-Hathaway? No one on this site has a clue how much money Floyd has, how Floyd invests of spends his money or what percentage of his money is invested or sitting in the bank. And quite frankly, it is no one's business.
If he dies rich or goes broke within a year after he retires, it is no one's business. And, if he was going to take financial advice from anyone, I am damn sure he wouldn't take it from a bunch of clowns posting comments on a boxing message board.
People rejoicing at the thought of another man's downfall is quite frankly, sad.
I agree, especially when they are rooting for his downfall! If Floyd was on fire, some of the keyboard cowards who post on this site would pour gasoline on him instead of water.
I read the espn article about him and it said that he has to pay everyone around him to hang out with him and laugh at his jokes. It was pretty sad actually
And Floyd spends $200,000 on purses so yea, hes gonna end up broke
By the time it is all said and done, he will end up making $80 to $100 million for the Alvarez fight. He might end up broke, but I doubt it will be any time soon. Besides, why the hell do you care? I guess you can't criticize and ridicule him for losing, so people like you make up BS lie this so that you will have something to talk about, whether it is true or not.

Simpy because he has earned 333 million doesn't mean he has pocketed 333 million. Of that 333 million, you can slice off at least one-third for taxes. Then he has to pay adviser, his trainer, his cutman and the rest of his staff. He owns houses in three cities and who know what other property or investments. Ellerbe said recently that Mayweather has numerous investments that have made him financialy stable. Until there is legitimate evidence (not the ramblings of bloggers or the keyboard cowards who post regularly on this site) to the contrary, I will take him at his word.
One thing is certain. His PPV sales will go downhill starting from his next fight. Who would want to see another boring win against another underdog? I don't know what he'll do after that. If he starts focusing on promoting fights, then he'll have to invest huge amounts of money as it's not an easy task. But it's really up to him. He could choose to live simply and he'll be okay financially for the rest of his life.
I think his ppv sales will be fine. He gained a lot more casual fans with the Alvarez win. Even the hardcore haters are starting to change their tune now

I don't really see it as hating, considering he has gone broke before. It's just a prediction imo. I wish he were still friends with 50 cent, who was trying to increase his wealth and has a track record of making incredibly smart business decisions. Hopefully Haymon doesn't let him do stupid things.
you are advocating he choose 50 cent over Al Haymon, who has a MBA from Harvard, regarding money issues? You are of course the same poster who in 3 months has 40% of thier posts about Canelo's d!ck.
If he has made $333M, don't forget to take away Golden Boy's cut, his team's cut, and more importantly, the biggest one of them all, Uncle Sam's cut.
So yeah, probably not even $150M, plus what he has spent.
200k out of 123m isn't alot of money. If you haven't made real money you would know that. Floyd spends the interest in his accounts not the total sum of it. To have a account that has 123 million in it is well insured its not in some local credit union on the corner.
This is the biggest blemish with the sport we love. So called boxing fans hoping for another man's downfall. It's disgusting. Just like someone pointed out, after you take out taxes, it only makes sense that Floyd is worth $170 million. But despite what his detractors hope for, the guy is still living a pretty good life. Yes he has nice cars, mansions, and all the luxurious items that wealthy people have, but why should he get criticized for it? Most rich people by nice things. Jay Leno is loaded as has a heck of a car collection that would make Floyd's look like a joke. But he doesn't get criticized. He's earned his money in an honest fashion and can spend it how he likes. I hope he holds on to all of his money well after his career and I wish the same for all other boxers. It just seems a lot of these "fans" just want to be able to say, "I told ya so!" if Floyd ever goes broke.
floyd going broke is the only thing left for his scumiest haters. they just want to see floyd fail at something.

why h had his money in the bank like that I'll never know. Maybe he doesn't like the volatility of the market. But unless he has more accounts which we don't know about he is costing himself millions.

The problem with that is he has that $123 million (supposedly) in a banking account which collects zero interest and is only FDIC insured for up to $250k. Some people believe in having a significant amount of there money liquid but its literally sitting there doing nothing.
And theres no way in hell hes ending up with anywhere near $80 million from the Canelo fight. People always forget that hes the one who payed for all the advertising and marketing which was over $50 million for that fight.

Exactly. People call Mayweather smart but he has $123m sitting in the bank. $123m for **** sake! A smart person would diversify their porfolio at least a bit you'd have thought. What I find funny is that Ellerbe was bragging about how Floyd and Tiger would be the only two athletes with $100m in the bank - I'm sorry but that makes Floyd a dumbass given his net worth. Maybe the fact that Floyd is viewed as smart on this site is a reflection of the intelligence level of the posters because let me tell you he's dumb. He can never directly answer a question in an articulate manner even when there is no incentive for him to avoid the question. The guy has a pointlessly large entourage of yes men who are paid to shout hard work dedication. That isn't smart people.
He may be a smart business man to an extent! But seems to be careless at times and in areas!, like paying your nba playoff seats . Seems like there was another issue a few years back about a charity orginazation. But i could be mistaking that!
