Canelo Vs Trout was not that good of a performance by Canelo. Its amazing how theyre bringing up that fight now like he dominated Trout.
First of all there was no way Trout was gonna get a fair shake. The open scoring was an absolute disgrace, i think one of the judges had it 8-0 canelo after 8 rounds. Not only that, with the open scoring canelo knew he had the fight won going into the final rounds so he just coasted since he was gassed as **** and couldnt do **** but fake defensive moves.
If it wasnt for the knockdown canelo looked like **** and was getting completely outworked by trout.
I'm not saying trout was robbed since he didnt really do that well either but that performance was probably about as good as broner was against paulie.
Watched the first 6 or 7 rounds with the sound off and thought the fight was extremely close. If I was a judge I would have scored a few of those rounds 10-10 and highly doubt Camelo would have been ahead by more than 2 points if at all for the first half of the fight.
I just watched the entire fight with the sound off, the lights on, standard definition, all while drinking no alcoholic beverages and had Canelo ahead by 3 points

the open scoring messed up the fight Canelo knew he was ahead even though he was doing jack so he didn't need to push himself.

I was at the fight and I thought Canelo clearly won. But after hearing so many people say Trout won I watched it and yeah, Trout could have easily won it. It looked different live. I musta got caught up with the crowd. It was a very close fight either way.
But to say he wasn't impressive implies that Trout isn't that good and I don't agree with that. It was a close fight between 2 really good fighters.
Canelo clearly won that fight, I gave Trout a total of 4 rounds. Most of you didn't note his defensive wizardry. He was looking like a prime Sweet Pea in there. I suggest you watch it again.

Defensive wizardry doesnt mean **** if u arent throwing punches.

Open scoring ruined the fight in my opinion. I think Canelo won clearly but not by a wide margin. He didn't put his foot on the gas because he knew he was up big. Did anyone really expect Canelo to beat Trout using good head movement to slip punches? He made it look really easy and went into cruise control after the knockdown. Also, Trout was very tentative and intimidated in the ring. He was leery of Canelo's power from the opening round. Canelo out "slicked" the supposedly slick fighter.
Exactly, it actually makes me sick. It makes all the bull**** that ****** oscar spews even worst.
Dont get me wrong, i never said Trout got robbed or anything like that. But come on, count the number of punches canelo actually threw and landed and tell me those scores are justified. He definetly landed the better punches but he literally didnt land a single punch in some rounds and the judges gave him the round. Despite the fact Trout worked his ass off every round of the fight. And by fake defensive moves i meant all that useless bobbing and weaving when trout wasnt even in range trying to look good.
I see what your saying about lack of activity but like I said he was landing the only significant punches in the fight and the rounds given to trout were a result of canelo not doing anything offensively rather than trout landing good shots. As far as the defense , even trout admited he was confused and definitely not prepared for that type of fighter he couldn't find him all night
The second we heard those scores after round 8, that was it. Trout knew he couldn't knock Alvarez out, and Alvarez knew he didn't have to try. We have no idea who the better man was. A close, competitive fight became a joke.

Lets be real trout did absolutely nothing to win that fight other than throw his weak ass jab it wasn't a great performance by canelo but he outboxed the guy most people picked to outbox him. He landed multiple uppercuts and straight rights that hurt trout and not to mention the knockdown . Again he didn't completely dominate but he showed a different side of his game that no one thought he had and you have to take into account the open scoring really hurt the end of the fight and at the end of the day people will always find something to say about any figters performance . Just curios what exactly do u mean by fake defensive moves??

Canelo showed good head movement that I didn't know he had. I was impressed. However the open scoring was a joke. I also think the scores were a joke.
With that being said the kd was the difference in the fight for me.

Really? I think it was quite obvious Canelo was the better man. It was close but clear in my eyes. He even outslicked Trout

Most didn't even think Alvarez won. The open scoring made the fight a joke, we have no idea who the better man between the two was that night.

I think Canelo clearly won. It was close though. 7-5 with an extra point for the knockdown. The open scoring was a joke and the guy who gave canelo like 11 rds should never judge again but the right guy won IMO. Idk how anyone can say he or Broner didn't clearly beat Trout and Malignaggi.
