...assuming Canelo can trap him and actually land shots similar to these.
How does Mayweather hold up against this type of artillery at a sustained rate if it can be managed? This is literally my only worry for Floyd in this fight. We all know Floyd can last. He has super human stamina. But Mr. Canelo has combos and they look like they get thrown from a very angry place. :ugh:
Not trolling. Not flaming. Just genuinely curious. I've never seen anyone really put Mayweather in a spot and just unload on him and land meaningful shots. Will his body hold up?
You will never see Floyd, at this stage, get caught on the ropes for a long period of time and get hammered on. He is too smart for that. He will spin off the ropes or simply tie him up. Plus, do you see how wide open Canelo is when he throw those bombs??? He will get countered all night. When will people learn that size and power is not the key to beating Floyd.
Cant say I agree with that. At the end of the day its two guys punching each other and while skill makes a difference, so does size and strength. If not you wouldnt have so many weight divisions now would you? Canelo simply doesnt have enough punching power to, if lucky (or talented enough) to land a couple good shots, end the fight with them.

Was that in slow motion? That was a slow and wild combo, he was wide open for counters also.
Mayweather aint no fukin Josesito Lopez or Alfonso Gomez either! Mayweather would have rolled all of that easily and countered especially considering how slow it looked
I'm sure someone may or may not have mentioned this, but you Canelo is going to have keep Mayweather off balance with a jab, keep throwing the jab, that's what he need to focus on in his training camp. Once he able to jab Mayweather to the ropes can he go to work on his body but he should get too close, just enough space to when his jab extend of which he should throw and then counter to the body.
If he does that I will like to see if Mayweather can adjust to this attack, if so Canelo may have him if Mayweather gets aggressive and he decides to wait and play defense walking Mayweather down.
You need to retype your entire post because the way you wrote it is very bad grammer.

That is why he is taking the fight. The same thing happens with all of Floyd's opponents. They get hyped up and the promotion leads you to believe that they have a serious chance of pulling off the upset. You fall for it and pay your $70 for the ppv just to see the same old act. Floyd once again outboxes and outclasses his opponent. Then you are left saying how boring the fight was because his opponent wasn't skilled enough to make it competitive. It will be the same with Matthyyse. Styles make fights and Floyd understands that these guys are not on his level so that's why he picks them. The 2 guys that will push Floyd to the limit will be Amir Khan and Devon Alexander. Doesn't matter about Khan's chin. They both have great hand speed with serious pop in both hands. They both have the foot speed as well. Its hand and foot speed that gives aging slicksters the most problem. Khan has not been impressive of late, but I still give him the biggest chance in pulling off the upset.
^ My post can be closed now. LOL.

Floyd nullifies so many styles and reduces the work rate of fighters with timing and movement. Mosley looked sensational in dispatching Margarito but after 2 rounds against Mayweather, he was reduced to almost nothing. Floyd would have to age and or Canelo would have to show a level of agression and skills that have not been seen before this fight to be something other than a Mayweather Clinic.
Canelo isnt fast, and he's not exactly carrying rocks in his fists either, he's no one punch KO guy and he needs to land a few good shots to do enough damage. He wont be able to do that with Floyd who can clearly outbox him. Money chose his oponent well, again.
I'm giving Floyd a 80% chance of winning, maybe more considering the catchweight and how taylor made Canelo is for him.

"if you can't hit Floyd with a jab you can't hit him with sh1t"- Roger Mayweather
Exactly. Canelo has a slightly shorter reach so Mayweather will have a easier time landing his jabs. Canelo isn't exactly quicker than an aged Mayweather either..
easy peasy... Cherrypicker will run and avoid almost everything the ginger will throw. when the ginger gets him on the ropes, Cherrypicker will hold on for dear life tighter than a crack head hold onto his rocks.
it will get boring because Cherrypicker don't have the mentality to finish off the ginger
Why would anyone want to get into the way of someone's punches?
Canelo throws nice tight crisp shots, but you can just see the difference in hand speed between him and Mayweather...it will be problematic for the kid.
While Floyd is a slick and calculating counter-puncher on the surface, I think he has some hidden fortitude that we haven't seen tested yet because the competition hasn't been able to push him to the limit.
Floyd's fortitude is no longer hidden. Corley brought it out. Mosley brought it out. Emanuel Burton (Augsustus) brought it out. Floyd will BANG if he has to. He has that in him...he just doesn't have to.
I never guessed Guerrero would crumble the way he did. If it's one thing Guerrero always showed was heart and a willingness to engage. He stood in front of Mayweather confused for long stretches in that fight. I expect Canelo to fight more like Ortiz fought Mayweather which will undoubtedly force some exchanges. I think people are underestimating Canelo's boxing ability too. He has got better with every fight. I can't wait to see this fight and as long as Floyd holds up physically through his last 5 fights, this the only guy I see him fighting that has a shot to beat him.
While Floyd is a slick and calculating counter-puncher on the surface, I think he has some hidden fortitude that we haven't seen tested yet because the competition hasn't been able to push him to the limit.
I secretly hope for this as well. Seeing Mayweather in a war will be sick. If he gets hurt on a serious level, hangs in there and comes back with a KO or win period I wouldn't be mad at dude. I've reached a point where I no longer rage behind specific fighters I just want to see good fights. I used to suffer from major fanboyism with certain fighters but **** all that, give me a well fought war.

People are so soon to forget Mosley rang his bell and if he would have went wild he would have koed May the man was hurt Mosley showed to much respect.
Mosley did what he was supposed to do he kept following up
Floyd will hold up. He will also be forced to throw punches with bad intentions...not that he doesn't already. When you deal with punchers, you have to become a puncher in a sense. Floyd has always done this, and his opponent isn't capable of adjusting. I see this happening also in this fight.
Lets say he does get the wind taken out of him, Floyd can still fight in the pocket. Canelo is too inexperienced and you can't emulate Floyd in sparring.
