Rigondeaux gave us a great performance and he deserved to win, no doubt, but the Donaire he fought wasn't at 100%
Donaire had the ****tiest camp of his life:
Conte abandoned him in the middle of it, Garcia trained him by phone, he underestimated Rigo and allegedly didn't even watch any films of the cuban.
Nonito was overall underprepared and badly distracted by his *****y wife and the impending birth of his child. He was also resenting a shoulder injury which will require surgery
If you take all these facts into consideration, you have to admit a rematch is needed. Nonito was perhaps at 70% of his capacity, if we're optimistic
I want to see how a 100%, fully prepared and healthy Nonito would do against el Chacal, it'd be a more competitive 50/50 fight probably
Handicaped Nonito was able to do this, after all

Like it or not, this is the entertainment busines. I mean, do you think fans are buying tickets and paying for premium channels to watch boring fights?
Rigondeaux is not in the entertainment business and, for that reason, I don't think you can compare him to fighters that are.
At will? LOL
Rigondeaux landed a whopping 29 punches in the first 3 rounds. I'm sure Donaire could barely stand!
Because now compubox tells you everything about a fight??? Just look at the tape not that, you will see he got his mind changed for him, and looked like he was in another planet he tucked hiss hands in and didnt know wtf to do.
And you are right there is no comparison because they are in different levels but i take a better boxer to a diva any day maybe that's just me who thinks the best should be measure by his skill. Sh*t, is called Boxing not american idol.
]WTF This is boxing not a burlesque show ofc a boxer aint gonna let the other guy tee off on him like an Idiot or a Mayorga.

Donaire tried to come to entertain the crowd at first and he changed his mind and went back on his word pretty fking quick after the first 3 rounds of getting clocked at will.

Donaire got owned by Rigo,,,,,
Just like Hopkins owned Trinidad
Winky and forrest owned mosely
Manny owned Barrera
Whitaker owned Chavez
Even great fighters can be owned by another great fighter
Style make matchups
It would be funny if Rigo fought Donaire at whatever weight he says he is now and still beat him. But Donaire might get lucky and catch rigo more in a rematch but I wouldn't bet on it lol
Debatable.
Either way, it's irrelevant, as Rigo and Donaire are two entirely different businesses.
Rigondeaux is in the track and field business
and
Donaire is in the entertainment business
I mean, let's face it, if Rigondeaux comes to entertain a crowd against Donaire, he's getting knocked out.
Simple as that.

i don't think i have ever seen a fighter get dominated the way donaire did and win a rematch

i'm a fan of donaire but, rigo doesn't have to do a damn thing. a rematch would probably be the most lucrative fight out there for him though.

Donaire don't want no more of Rigondeaux, his style is too fukin difficult to deal with, you can never look good against Rigondeaux style so trying to get a Decision over him is going to be hard and knocking him out will be even harder

I'm a big fan of Donaire, but I was disappointed big time by his performance.
Be prepared and never underestimate your opponent is a part of being a good fighter, you can't use that as an excuse. If he was too dumb*ss to take Rigo seriously then it's his own problem not ours

If he had a bad camp, thats his fault... He is a pro and should not have taken him lightly.. Floyd and manny always come prepared..
Donaire got schooled. Badly.... I was shocked. I thought he would be rigo by ko but after watching the fight, RIGO IS THE REAL DEAL
If they rematch it might be closer but same result. Just like Mosely-forrest and winky
Rigo might be a bit boring to some to watch, but maybe in part has to do with him being incredibly disciplined in the ring. I think he's one, if not the most disciplined boxers today.
He does what he has to to win, he's not a show-boater to boost sales for his fights. He gets in there and takes care of biz. But if Nonito let his hands go more in that fight, Dunno what would have happened. I was pissed at Doniare for that.
Just as Donaire would fair better, so would Rigo, with both guys having been familiar with each other. I think Donaire presses the action this time and gets hurt earlier.
I agree. Every time Nonito tried to get aggressive with Rigo he got cracked. "El Chacal" was moving in for the kill in the twelfth. Had this been the old days, with 15 round championship fights, Donaire wouldn't have seen the final bell. In a return match, Guille might actually take Nonito out.
It's hard to believe, however, that Rigondeaux could be better prepared in a rematch. He was on the razor's edge in the first fight. Besides that, Donaire was so inactive that Guille couldn't have seen much. No matter, "El Chacal" is Nonito's daddy.
Then who near Rigondeaux's level be worthy of fighting him?
You're point is invalid, Rigondeaux will want the fight and most of all want the fight providing him most funds which will undoubtedly be either Donaire or Mares.
So only two fighters around basically in that division are going to see him earn the most coin.
while what your saying is true , i don't want him to fight doniare again straight away.imho he should go for the mares bout , even though that could be a no goer anyway , but at least try to make the fight.yes , while rigo will make good money for fighting doniare again whats the point of it , he schooled him the first time and weren't people complaining that rigo fought boring .
Dude this site is Rigo crazy now, good luck with trying to convince them of anything other then that Rigo is godly.
As for me, I think Donaire would fair better in a rematch. All the greats lose but come back to avenge. I feel Donaire is great so he would fair better. However I can't say that he wins because the style match up is all wrong for him.
