First off Guerrero was only a featherweight two years ago, never had a KO as a lightweight even against faded Casamayor, and got hit more against Berto than Ortiz did. Although we couldn't see how the Mayweather fight with Ortiz might have ended he still looked more of a threat than Guerrero did. Guerrero threw nothing but arm punches with no Leverage behind them, zero head movement, had his feet stuck on mud, and hesitated to punch when the time was right. He lacked hand speed the whole fight. Talked all this mess about him not being a Victor Ortiz, but at least Ortiz did something when Mayweather was against the ropes and began to work.
Guerrero is a better fighter than Ortiz ever was, at welterweight or otherwise. Guerrero is a well-schooled, tough southpaw and physically strong, though not overwhelming in handspeed or explosiveness. Essentially, he faced the same dilemma that Marquez faced in that Floyd had too much for his tactics to be successful. Mayweather was a bad style match-up for him. But, in terms of quality, he's in the same class as the best welters that Floyd has fought. I can't say with certainty that he'd lose to any of those guys.
At the time it could be argued, nobody could have guessed he'd go bonkers in the ring like that so based on terms of ability Ortiz was faster and had more power he did actually stun Mayweather and landed more shots in far less rounds
It's not like Guerrero brought anything at all to the fight and he did check out mid way through managed to finish but wasn't really giving an effort to win merely survive
No not true because victor Ortiz has the mental brain power of a 7 year old no way that somebody that stupid could beat a ring technician like floyd. And I don't really even go for lil floyd like that. PAC man in his prime was the only serious threat or ginger if he continues to develop
Ortiz probably has a little more natural talent and boxing ability. But he doesnt have it upstairs. But real talk the WW division is staked with B level fighters. Ortiz and Guerrero are capable of fighting any WW on GBP roster and making it an exicting fight. I wouldnt mind either if the two go against the Lopez/Maidana winner.
Floyds last ten fights have been more of a threat....seriously Guerrero was never a threat. Media built him up and his dirty tactics got him past Berto.
Off topic but Did anyone see ortiz get bood like mad on the big screen? That was funny.
yea when they were showing all the other fighters he got bood big time lol, i want someone to upload his interview
Ortiz fought like a *****
Every round he pushed his head up against Floyd, stupid tactic and so obvious
He was getting beat so he got frustrated and went skitzo
Even though the Ghost was getting beat, he didn't lower his standards like Ortiz did
Off topic but Did anyone see ortiz get bood like mad on the big screen? That was funny.
what was funnier was when the girl asked him who he liked in the fight, he said "i don't like either one of them" lol
