Its crap, it effects the fight, makes fighter fight in ways they normally wouldn't this crap needs to stop.
Its not making judges score fights better, its just ruining the drama and suspense the makes boxing great.
sucked the life out of the fight after they announced the last scoring from the judges I think it was after the 8th Round
it made me just stop scoring the fight lol
Good Fight Though!
THIS :werd:
Open scoring was implemented by the WBC on championship fights to prevent robberies, it is in effect in every country except in the USA lol and in the USA is where most robberies happen, in the USA the WBC can only tell the corner the official scores if both corners agree to it, I think it's good for the sport.
Please someone correct me if I am wrong but i could have sworn they had it for Khan vs Peterson in D.C.
Just playing devil's advocate but i don't think its that bad. Would Trout have been that aggressive in the last few rounds if he thought it was close or he was up.
I have seen too many trainers interviewed during fights that swear its close when their guy is getting clearly beat (most recent example was Danny Garcia telling Kellerman he thought Donaire/Rigo was 3-3 after 6, which was stupid). Might as well let these guys know where they are at so the potential loser can go for it in the championship rounds...
I also dislike it. The only good thing about it is, one fighter knows they're gonna get robbed, so they fight harder. On the flip side, Fighter B might just take off because they know they got it on lock. I'm not a fan.

This right here
No I have seen it used in some title fights in Europe. I recall the Mormeck - Bell rematch used open scoring and it ruined the end of the fight.
Vitali/Peter was Open scoring too, to the WORST degree. The announcer was screaming the scores so everyone in the arena could hear it over the microphone LOL!
Is this the first time they've used it in a major fight?

Even worse is the judges deciding the winner of rounds before they happen. Scoring is the biggest flaw in boxing, finding out that someone who put up a good fight and at the very least should be close had already lost by round 8 is a joke.

They only do it in Texas. Screw Texas.
