It ain't all that much considering that Donaire needs this fight...and is probably smart by choosing this guy now rather than later (once Rigo got a bit more experience against top pros).
He's holds a major title. When you hold one of the 4 major titles and fight in unification match, you're going to get paid well.
Brian Viloria and Hernan Marquez certainly didn't get paid well for their unification on Wealth TV.
Mathebula didn't even get paid well for his unification with Donaire.
He deserves it, Rigo is at a different level than most guys are at 10 fights. I mean don't look at the number of fights he's had, look at the fighter himself in this situation.
Not sure how much he made but Pete Rademacher won the Heavyweight Gold medal at the 1956 Olympics and then fought Floyd Patterson for the undisputed Heavyweight championship in his pro debut in 1957.
He lost by KO in 6.
I think winning 300+ amateur bouts over a lifetime career that should earn him at least a 10 pro fight cushion in public oppinion not like he chose to turn pro late. He never had the choice takes alot of balls to do what those guys do become traitors to their country by just leaving and can never go back to see their family again
In Rigo's defense, he would be fighting a super star. Andre Berto was fighting guys like hernandez and got payed 900k, Berto has been really lucky with his paydays.
thats a guy to complain about no real fan base never did anything amazing in his career but getting high paydays.

yeah but he made his bones in the amateurs, he exactly isnt a spring chicken anymore. Didnt Gamboa make decent scratch too with less than 10 fights?? he was showcased on FNF a lot
