He was hurt and any more punching would have done alot of damage! He was stiff legged and his eyes were wandering, as all good refs know the "eyes" will tell you everything you need to know!
That kid stood up everytime he stepped back and when punches came to him he also stood straight up so its just a matter of time!!! Good stopage especially with young inexperienced fighters! The 19yr old looks good! Ray.
was this?

Late stoppage,if anything.
I'll never forgive Calzaghe for ruining promising career of Peter "Mad Maniac" Manfredo.
Don't know how I feel about this one...If you look at the third round he was hurt and was getting hit before the knockdown happened. He got caught with a left hook that staggered him in that same round. Given that this was a 4 round fight and the guy has no power, he had a minimal chance of winning and the KO could have been worst if continued. He can fight another day but this fight was looking less and less winnable as the rounds went on.
the refs calls it off, but I believe it was early giving the fact that the fighter (both) are undefeated, and the dude beat the count and showed no signs of not being able to continue, the ref didnt ask him any question or tell him to walk toward him or anything, soon as he stood up he waived it off. yes he was a lil hurt but that understandable he was justt put on his ass.
Either way its just what I think. you have to watch the fight cause this shows nothing but the kd punch not the count or stoppage so kinda dumb to ask this question without the actual stoppage to discuss this on.
If he stood up alright, I'd say that was a little early, especially if he hadn't been taking punishment.
It was early, imo.
The young man's eyes were focused during the count. He was aware enough to be looking at his corner for reassurance and he made it to his feet without any exaggerated steps to regain his balance.
Truthfully, his legs were shaky but I think he should have been allowed to continue with the referee simply staying very close to the action to make sure he doesn't take any terrible shots.

he sure did but we did'nt see the losers corner ..just like when brian viloria stopped tyson marquez , i thought for a second it was stopped prematurely by the ref until they showed garcia waving the towel..
