Did Chris John really beat JMM?

Chris John is a joke not a machine. Get real anyone that rates John over Marquez is a idiot. This guy just made his 17th defense against a guy with not one notable win. John could have easily made fights with Salido or Gamoboa to see who the best featherweight was but he didn't because he knew he would lose. Getting a backyard decision against JMM and staying protected in his backyard are the only 2 things that made John a champ. Have you even warched the fight? Fyi ring magazine and sweet science also scored it for marquez. Fyi Johns recent opponent which you just talked down, was 44 and 0. Your statement was such a one eyed yank statement i bet y ou don.t know any fighes outside the states.....so you just call them no notable wins. U fool.

close fight with the BS point deductions. i thought it was a 117-111/116-112 kinda fight if there were no deductions.

i have never gotten around to watching it, but ive seen more writers than not say that the scoring was off, but he definately won. why he was in indonesia on ****ing 6 figures in the first place instead of a pacquiao rematch that year is the bigger question than if he won or not. beristain had no sense sending him out there like that. its probably why i never bothered looking at it because it was such a stupid managerial move. I don't think JMM cracked 100k I think it was like 50 grand and could have been less. It goes down as one of the most boneheaded decisions of all time when you really think about it. As for the thread at hand, the fight was very tough to score and with the deductions you can have JMM winning but it is easy to see it the other way also .

Not a robbery by any stretch. Need to do a thread with the video embedded, and have people post their round by round scores. JMM tried to grab up an easy title and use it to get bigger money in the Pacquiao rematch. Backfired. John fought a negative fight but gave as much as he got. Juan was off that night.

1st time i watch it, i gave it to john (more active) 2nd time i watch it, i gave it to jmm (the more solid punches upon closer look). Close. john started stronger but jmm seems to counter better the 2nd half....very low quality video downloaded from filestube....can't find the video anymore on my drive.

You guys think JMM can't be beaten. He lost to Chris John, no robbery there. The media didn't even call it a robbery. They just said the fight was a lot closer than the actual scorecards.

JMM was robbed because of the point deductions. He won the fight, and that just gave Chris John just enough to get by on a **** decision.

IMO yes John won,but it was a close fight so I would not have been mad if Marquez got the nod...

Chris John won this fight 10000000% Of course the fight was competitive, Marquez is no slouch, but Chris John won this fight well. There are many fights where the score card is 118-110, that doesn't mean an ass whooping, it means in every round one fighter was better than the other, and many times it may be just a little bit better. I just hate how all of the North Americans (Yanks and Mexicans) refuse to even talk about this fight...and on HBO too, they talk about Marquez this and that and it makes me vomit how they don't say 'hey wait a minute, Marquez has been beat by John too'....but just because this fight wasn't even shown live (from memory) in the States and also Chris John not being a super marketable fighter, they tend to totally ignore this result.......and then what makes me more sick, whenever someone does bring it up, they act like it was a dodgy result. Chris John is a machine and top 5 P4P without a doubt. Marquez should have asked for a rematch and tried to promote it in the USA,,,,why he didn't is beyond me, but I suppose he realised that not many ppl were talking about this loss and also there isn't much money in it. Did you guys actually watch the fight or just assuming? I watched the fight and it was close and competitive. I had it a draw with the point deductions, even though they were shady. Marquez should have won it if the ref would have been fair. John didn't win more than 3 or 4 rounds. He was back peddling trying to counter most of the fight. Marquez was the aggressor, he threw more, landed more, and outboxed John pretty easily. JMM should have won that fight even with the bs deductions.
