Rafa is getting underrated
When he was a bantamweight, there's not a 118lber in history I would have bet cash could beat him. I'm not saying he couldn't be beaten here, I just would never have bet real cash against him
Klits are badass, but in a weaker division
gotta go with Marquez brothers on this one
Rafael is actually better than JMM though
Rafael at his best won his big fights, JMM lost his
Flawed logic, JMM's biggest fights were against much better opposition and he arguably beat Pac at least once.
I love the Klitschko's but you've got to go with the Marquez bros, Rafael is regarded by many as one of the greatest Bantamweight champions of all time, and JMM is one of the greatest Mexican fighters ever, better than Barrera and Morales in my opinion. Plus their resumes are far superior than the brothers K.
Having exciting fights has nothing to do with Marquez bros being better. They have fought better opposition, beat better opposition and also have greater skills. You look at Wlad's KO losses to guys like Purrity, Sanders and Brewster but then talk about Rafa's losses to guys like Vasquez, Nishioka, Lopez and Mijares?
Let's not even mention how many P4P guys Marquez bros have fought and beat.
It's clearly Marquez bros. They are arguably, probably a certainty in fact, the greatest sibling pair of boxers in history.
Who are the best fighters Vitali faced? Lewis, Byrd and Sanders? Two losses and one win. The best Rafa faced was Vasquez, Too Sharp, Austin and he has beaten all of them.
Both are 3 division champs (Juan should be 4 with the epic win over Pac at 147) with many HOF wins. The Klit bros, as great as they are, don't have one single HOF win between them.
so if sven ottke and joe calzaghe were brothers they would be better than the marquez's too?
so who did the klitschkos duck? last I checked they fought and beat all the best opposition and in dominating fashion.
The brothers who have ruled their division ever since Lennox Lewis retired.
I have to say the Klitschko's based on their dominance over the HW division for many years now.

The Marquez bros have beaten Manny Pacquaio & Too Sharp Johnson...
...The Klits beat up Sam Peter. :pat:
Yep. There is a wee bit of difference in the level of competition being faced.
The Klits have never had an Israel Vasquez or a Marco Antonio Barrera to contend with.
rafa marquez sh-its on both the klitschkos. stop overrating weak title defenses and especially since both are in the same division which makes their options even more limited. rafa beat the best guy at 115 mark johnson(although they fought at 118), he beat the best guy at 118(tim austin), and he beat the best guy at 122(israel vasquez), between the 2 brothers they only beat the best guy in the division once.
This question gets made at least 3 times a year and the Marquez Bros always win. I'm not surprised the poll is this close considering B.S always rates boxers on current performances and not overall achievements.(RM has been on a loosing streak)
Resume Marquez bros > Klitschkos
Skills it's about even JMM > Wlad > Rafa and Vitali are a toss up
The Marquez brothers are superior maybe only because the Klitschkos are in a weak HW era.
Rafa is getting underrated
i don't think by me. i said he is a very good fighter, he just fell short of being great
and to the other guy who said vitali lost to the two best fighters he faced. not a great argument, look at DLH he lost bunch of his biggest fights but was he not a great fighter? i think he was.
and he was still very much in the Lewis fight when it got stopped cause of the cut. lennox was clearly the more tired of the two and vitali was winning the rounds but still getting hit with the occasional bomb. i can't say how that fight would have ended. either vitali would get sparked by another big right hand from Lewis, or whether Vitali could stand up to them and continue to win rounds
