No one seems to understand or recognize the potential Quillen has. He just won his first belt this past weekend by beating one tough bull of a fighter. Peter drop him 6 times in route to a UD victory. I am predicting a clash between Sergio Martinez and Kid Chocolate sometime next year. I am also picking Quillen to defeat Martinez by KO.
Chavez/Macklin/Golovkin/Murray/Pirog/Geale/Sturm. Now, Quillin is IMO the 3rd/4th best option behind Geale/Chavez/Sturm. Do I want to see him fight Sturm or Chavez? Nope, but they do bring a greater monetary incentive. Remember that he's the WBC champion and therefore won't be able to unify all the belts, and the WBO belt is all Quillin brings to the table. However, Martinez is the lineal champ, so everyone should be fighting each other to get a shot at him. I doubt that Quillin is expecting to get a fight with Sergio next, but I will be very disappointed if his team puts Rubio or Taylor in front of him. That would be almost as bad as Winky.
Then, when you add the fact that Martinez wants to fight Canelo/Cotto/Mayweather, it's obvious that Quillin doesn't have a chance of getting Sergio in the ring.
Canelo/Cotto/Mayweather will not be fighting Martinez so that just leaves the others you named. I predict and I could be wrong, but I think 2013 Quillen is gonna make some noise with those exicting ko's. Martinez has been on top for a while now and he has yet to become a super star like Canelo,Mayweather,Pac,or Ward. Watch how fast Quillen become a star with those kos, and his two fisted style of attack. Add that to being cuban and from NY and you got a super star, plus hes undefeated, OMG. This fight will happen as long as Quillen continues to KO AND WIN,anything less and he goes away quietly in the night.
he's badass but i was more impressed with ndam ..wanna rematch maybe late next year if they both keep winning..
A rematch is not needed, ndam did all he could do. He had twelve rounds to adapt and he could not avoid the left hook. Quillen would most likely stop ndam early.
what are they?

Kid Chocolate is a force to be reckoned with but a Martinez match and a KO of Martinez. That is a big wish! Quillin has the potential of being one of the best middleweight fighters but I truely doubt he could handle Martinez anytime in the near future!
Chavez almost koed Martinez, so we know he can be rocked. Quillen throws bombs in combos, and he will land them.
Message to Peter Quillen: IF your reading this, first let me say, congrats on your NEW BELT. I just want to say to you, please start investing to the body. Work on your body punching. You have a killer left hook. If you start landing it to the body your effectiveness and kos will come easier.
don't count on it. I seriously doubt that sergio will fight quillin, there are numerous options available at mw.
It also helps that he has al haymon.
Quillin has the wbo belt, now he'll probably go on to fight guys we don't want to see him fight. I expect him to fight rubio/taylor next.
what are they?
Sergio doesn't have many options! soon Quillen will be unavoidble! Martinez will be forced to fight him.

I love "Cuban Power" Quillin. Out of the next gen of 160lbs he has the brightest star.

If paul williams had the power Quillen had in that first Martinez fight, we would not be talking about Martinez today. Paul landed alot of leather on Martinez, and Paul is a sloppy fighter. Quillen is a more precise puncher. He lands with leverage, speed, and power.
He reminds me of Tito Trinidad. same body type, Lethal left hook.
I was waiting for someone else to say it bruh! I think the same thing. He also has that killem mentality after hurting his opponant. I see Tito all over again.

Science, you like to sound like you are a long time boxing fan so I'll ask you again. Did you really think Ward was gonna pass up a 2 million dollar purse to fight Dawson to fight Anthony Dirrell for 250K? Anthony Dirrel might actually be a quality fighter but boxing is and always has been driven by money. Dude its 2 million vs 250k, and at that time you would have been very hard pressed to find anyone who thought a bout vs Dirrel would be easier than vs Dawson. I still don't see what you see in Anthony. Its not hard to look impressive vs his resume. Ward handles him EASY![/QUOTE
I understand boxing is a business 1st. At the time the Ward vs Dirrell fight was being discussed, dawson was not in the picture, and as far as what i saw in Anthony. Very fast and accurate hands, tall long and linky, great counter puncher, great body puncher, strong jab, hammering right hand, well timed strong left hook, very good corner and back ground story, also high boxing IQ, and maybe the most important, a desire to win.

Science, dude you're HILARIOUS! Whether you're claiming a totally untested prospect (Anthony Dirrell) is gonna beat a top 3 P4P(Ward), putting together a 140/135lb super 6 tourny with a 122 lb Nonito Donaire in it, or claiming Quillen has the resume to demand a Martinez fight. You make me chuckle!
Ward ducked Anthony my azz! Did you really think Ward would pass on the 2 million he got for fighting Dawson and settle for the 250k he would have made vs Anthony. Do the math! If you actually have a link where Ward "openly ducked" Anthony, please post. The vile scum at the WBC still list Ward as their 168lb Champion, so he didn''t give that title up as you claim
ANTHONY WAS WARDS MANDATORY Challenger. That tells you that more than I thought he was skilled enough to upset ward. IF WARD thought it was an easy fight he would have accepted the challenge.
So if a guy lose a fight he is a hype job? I could mention a thousands of fighters that lose not only one time but a dozen and they were not or are hyped, Chavez jr. along with Canelo are at the top of hyped fighters if you ask me, again that's my opinion, I don't see nothing that Chavez does better than Quillin and the Kid like Chavez didn't have any or almost nothing amateur experience, he have more power and is faster than JR, his chin is proven just like Jr.
you misunderstood the point of that statement. I obviously don't believe that if Chavez JUST lost, and Quillin just won.
Don't see what the few posters see in quillen the guy shows no skills and has no footwork what so ever, decent pop in his punches and other then that he is a club fighter at best. If people were impress in what they saw they don't know boxing or blind as hell
I had see him moving in the ring, my guess is that he was tied and nervous because that was his first twelve round contest and his first crack at a belt, and he wasn't fighting a bum, Dnam is a very good fighter that could give trouble to any 160 including Maravilla.
perhaps no one if Quillin continues to impress. and if he loses we can label him a hype job. it was never about comparing levels, that's a triangle theory, an argument that can be proven false too easily. It's just the way I see it, for the moment at least (that's where we revert back to "if Quillin continues to impress"). if we're lucky enough we get that fight next, we won't, but if we were we could stop aimlessly speculating and just watch the fight.

Chavez, for real, could you please list the name of those fighters on Quillin level that Chavez has beat up?
