In no particular order here are a bunch who's power i rate!
Wladomir Klitschko
David Haye
Gennady Golovkin
Randall Bailey
Lucas Matthysse
Marco Huck
Arthur Abraham
Daniel Ponce De Leon
Juanma Lopez
Johnny Gonzales
Victor Ortiz
Saul Alvarez
Manny Pacquaio
haye is among boxing's best punchers, though. pointing those guys out is the purpose of the thread.
froch is not among the hardest hitters in boxing.
Fair enough. I was just commenting on another post that said Froch hit hard, was simply giving my opinion on Froch's power.
Who's comparing? I was just stating that they are both big punchers.

haye is a no holds barred puncher, p4p or otherwise
froch isnt on his level in punching terms.

Big difference from a natural puncher & guys that need technique & leverage to punch.
A natural puncher always has that in the bag, where as a guy that needs technique can generally only get off his big punch from a particular position. Throw them off their game & their power tends to evaporate, but a natural is generally at his most dangerous when things are falling apart.
Both categories of fighters are natural punchers, the technique and leverage just allows certain fighters to unleash their natural power to the fullest extent.
Many fighters can deliver a perfect straight right hand while turning their backfoot and putting their whole body into it like Hearns did, but not many can do as much damage as he did.

Current natural punchers out of the list:
Lucas Matthysse
Gennady Golovkin
Randall Bailey
Manny Pacquaio
Arthur Abraham
Magomed Abdusalamov
& I'd probably add Denis Boystov, who might be the hardest short puncher the heavyweight division has seen a while.
I dunno about you guys, but i always wonder what David price has in his right hard, it's lethal! Also the tua man could be on that list, he's come out of retirement now.
Not Alvarez or Ortiz
Obviously Bailey and Lucas Matthysse
I agree i think alvarez has overrated power.....only reason he looks like a hard puncher is because he's fighting guys who aren't natural jr middleweights and/or way past their prime. Also, should add James Kirkland to the list of hardest punchers in boxing today..
lol
pacquiao is a monstrous puncher, he's just fighting much bigger guys.
he's a former flyweight with a one punch knockout over one of hte best 140 lbers in his era.
at 122 through 130 he's one of the most explosive punchers you will ever see.
this is true...i really think pac was a much more devastating puncher back from 122-126..he knocked out/stopped everyone from 122-126 except agapito sanchez and marquez ..
Yeah I agree, that Montiel KO was devastating and the couple leading up to it including Vic D, were all similar left hooks to the head and also very good. I know he broke Mathebulas jaw in his last fight, but that was the fight I thought "this guy is in love with his power, but im not so sure it's as good as I once did or he thinks it is"
I think his power is great, but after a couple of high profile devastating knockouts people now fight him with a defensive mindset. The same thing happened to Pacquiao, he whacked DLH, Hatton & Cotto and then the likes of Clottey and Mosely covered up or ran for 12 rounds and then laughed all the way to the bank. It doesn't diminish his power, it just means that no one will trade with him. Cotto tried in the first couple of rounds and look what happened to him.
the montiel kayo is about as hard as you'll ever see a bantamweight punch. that was freakish power.
i think donaire's power gets overstated a bit. it's there, but the man throws very little for a bantamweight. when he's throwing it's usually full pow, and easy to take away.
he also looked brutal when he beat up sidorenko (or however you spell that crazy name.)
he was just putting bombs on that poor kid. he could hardly keep from getting knocked backwards.
