I think he does it, thinking he'll get away with it. Then he gets caught, and he apologizes. Not sorry he did it, but sorry he got caught doing it. I laughed when the ref told ortiz not to touch gloves or hug lopez when the action resumed cuz we all know what happened against mayweather LOL. BUT SERIOUSLY this is a bad habit ortiz has - he has no self control. Lopez was bent right over facing away from Ortiz and Ortiz still thinks its a good idea to throw a punch to the back of his head right in front of the ref? It was a clean fight for the most part besides that incident. Ortiz got away from his jab that was really effective and hid the fact that ortiz has no upper body movement defensively. He would have won the fight if he learned how to dodge a punch here and there. This is really a trainer issue.

I think I was to hard on Ortiz right after the fight because of what happened in the Maidana and Mayweather fights. After getting the facts I don't think he was wrong to quit when he did.I look foward to the rematch if it happens. I think Ortiz will win next time.

He quit. I dont care what anyone says and I was a fan. Also, dont forget 2 things. No one is claiming that he didnt not break his jaw so IDK why people keep saying "see, look at that". You don't seem to get the simple concept here. Emotion ≠ mental lapse. Anyway, we'll see how you handle a broken jaw in your future, if it ever happens. I've handled it well. I wasn't fighting though, but I broke my jaw wrestling in high school. I lost in the pub, but i finished the match. I am an extremely competitive person and the type of guy who breaks stuff when he loses. I just refuse to lose. It sucks and it will probably get me killed one day, but hey.

That's not logic, that's common sense. He falls into the boxing description of a headcase. You can't seem to get your damn head around that small concept. Other fighters who fall into it are Miguel Cotto, but you'd have to dig really deep and dissect him to form a case. People say he quit against Margo - sure, he took a knee, but the punishment he withstood was far worse than that of what Ortiz withstood. I've even seen you call Cotto a quitter - then Ortiz is a quitter too. Cotto fights like a bully. He's the aggressor when his opponent is on the backfoot, but when they stand their ground he's on his bike - you can argue that's a headcase move too, as IMO he lost to Clottey for this very reason. But, that's reaching, though not very far. In Boxing terms Ortiz fits the bill of a headcase. He's in there with Judah and Cintron, why is this so hard to understand? There are fighters who lack heart, and fighters who lack mental fortitude. I use to question Ortiz' heart, now I just question where his head is at because he does questionable things when under fire. I think it's obvious that this dude has a PhD in Sports Psychology and we should all listen to him.
