You dont like Victor Ortiz.. so why do you talk about him. All you people talk about are the people you hate.. if you hate them so much stop talking about them.
I don't get Ortiz. From the Maidana thing, to beating Berto down in a defining moment, to headbutting Floyd and getting sucker punched KO'd, to quitting while he was up on the cards against Josesito Lopez of all people.
All he had to do was keeping fighting hard, and he would have probably gotten the decision. I had him up 86-83 at the time. Lopez fought hard and never quit, and it proved to be enough because in the end Ortiz quit.
I can't believe it, I was stunned.
If the fight continued, Ortiz would've gotten stopped, Josesito was landing clean and hard on Victor's jaw.
Lopez has got a lot of heart, gotta give him credit since he dished out the punishment, and endured a bit himself.
Personally I think its because as a fighter Oritz has to be in control or he starts looking for a way out. He did it with maidana, he did it when he got outboxed by floyd, and he started looking at the door when Lopez started taunting him in the ring. He was ok with berto because most of that fight he had control .
This is the answer. Ortiz has a hard time with adversity in the ring. If he cant chop the guy down with all those hard shots he lands, he starts getting discouraged and that's when anything can happen.
My buddy thought Ortiz would be able to power through a decision after the fight continued due to the illegal punch. I told him, "This is an Ortiz fight. There's still several more rounds left where any kind of crazy stuff can happen"
Once Ortiz realized he couldnt get Lopez out of there, he began to fall apart mentally. Thing is, he was still winning the fight, but you could just see how frustrated he was gettings.

For me it started with the post maidana fight interview where he refused to give his opponent any credit, even when maidana got up from getting koed 4 times.
Then there was the Mayweather fight where he acted like a stupid punk in all the pre fight interviews being disrespectful and acting like he was somekind of boxing god.
Then when the fight happens and mayweather starts box beautifully and bust him up he goes on and ****es up the fight when he executes the most blunted and violent headbutt in sports history.
And then it just got down right bizare when he starts kissing mayweather trying to make things good, thats like walking up to someone punch them hard in the face and then kiss them and say I am sorry.
And that is just the begining
The dude is one of the least likable persons in the history of boxing, no wonder he got into so many fights as a kid or that his dad kicked his arse.
All i was really trying to point out was.. Insted of hating on Ortiz... why dont you talk about lopez's good fight?
People would rather hate on boxers then give others credit. Cant argue that.
He showed some excellent hops against pwill.
He did ur species proud that night.
he's my first ever relative that quit like that.
against a dark-skinned human no less.
disgusting.
I am of the opinion that cINTRON is a much more talented and creative quitter than Ortiz.
I mean he cried in the ring against Margarito. Ortiz laughs like a dork when he quiits.
don't you dare talk about my brother kermit like that. :nonono:

:lol1:, gotta admit the stunt he pulled vs pwll got me convinced for a minute he did'nt do it on purpose
:lol1:
I'm confused also.
Victor Ortiz just quit against Joseito Lopez.
Are people expecting no one to talk about this?
Yeah, forget the biggest upset of the year thus far, a possible FOTY candidate, and the fact that Ortiz mentally folded in a big fight for the 3rd time - None of that ish matters, let's talk about Khan/Garcia. :lol1:
Ortiz fans all must have ovaries or something.....There's seriously gotta be some reason why they're so overly-emotional about the criticism of Ortiz.
Newsflash : The fight just ended a matter of moments ago, it's a fresh news story, people are OBVIOUSLY going to want to discuss/debate what went down.

apparently that's the case.
they want us to talk about how he was raised to smile and laugh graciously after suffering a humilating defeat in the hands of a heavy underdog.
:lol1:
lol we just finished watching a damn good fight where the favored boxer quit, again.
wtf are we supposed to talk about in a boxing forum?
the miami heat?

Quoted for truth.
They don't let us talk much on here anymore.
At least we can make fun of dummies like Ortiz.
Don't need no noobs giving us all kinds of rules and stuff.

It's one thing talking about boxing, but then talking about a fighter's personal life and stuff and putting him down is another. We should respect fighters cuz they risk their lives for our entertainment you *****es.
