Because the worldwide popularity of MMA was/is not that of boxing, the talent-pool is not quite that of boxing. That's how a WWE star like Brock Lesnar can become the UFC Heavyweight champ. It is preposterous to assume that guys like Dos Santos and Velasquez can KO the Klitchko's on the same night.

Carwin is possibly the hardest hitter in MMA, but Dos Santos hits harder than Kongo and Dos Santos is a much better Striker than either of them as has already showed DoSantos looks like he needs to do full swings to put people in the canvas, Kongo doesn´t and now that I think it there must be a dozen other fighters with more power than doSantos, but they just suck at striking.
