No it's way too much. 154 is the absolute max Cotto can get out of his body and still do well. He should possibly even go to 147. It's like Martinez and 168. He would be dwarfed by Ward and co.

Unfortunately, I don't like his chances against anybody there... Chavez Jr is like 180+ pounds... Sturm is pretty big himself (then again, Sturm wouldn't win a decision out in the US...likewise for Cotto though in Germany). Martinez would overwhelm him, too big, too fast, too strong, too good. Pirog could possibly break him down, although I was not impressed with his last fight, he's still got a size advantage and is solid. You know who Cotto COULD beat? <__<..Marco Antonio Rubio.

Cotto is going nowhere if he jumps to MW he has leaky defense and a suspect chin top guys at MW all beat him by KO he's not really that strong at JMW, moving up more is nuts What he said ..and I'm one of the biggest cotto fans . But he will be facing guys any where from 5"10-6"1

He could beat Sturm, Pirog and if he boxes against Chavez he can beat him too. Martinez would out box him and put him out with a left. If Chavez gets in on Cotto and pushes him to the ropes, he could break Cotto down like Margs did.

Id like to see him try to go up to 160.. That will be the end of him.. Chavez jr. would **** him up, I know a lot of people hate Chavez jr. on here but the kid is a big ass dude and would walk Cotto down and beat him to a pulp.. Heck even Canelo will **** Cotto up..

I think the physical disadvantages would be too much for Cotto to overcome. Height and reach wise, Cotto is a small LMW, so imagine how small he'll be at MW. Cotto will probably be outweighed by 15lbs+ on fight night, and his punches wouldn't have much effect.

NO His style of using his jab to get inside wont work with bigger men,just look at the 1 margarito fight. he only won the second fight because margarito was a walking corpse. The bigger men would hit him hard and step to the side until cotto is beaten to a pulp
