That's how you know our education system has failed us, when you consider how Roger speaks anything resembling english
LOL. He speaks English and his words resemble the English language. Is it standard, perfect English? Not at all. But it's English, nonetheless.
Roger speaks English, what are you talking about?

What can Roger do for him that is better than what Steward can? Neither of them two speak english and its going to be a fail. 30 years old and his career is whittling away

Yes it is extremely unprofessional. Where is his loyalty to his trainer and promoter.
But, he is a boxer and boxers do stupid things all the time.
Are you serious with the bold?
One of Floyd's worst fights was against Baldomir... And in that fight, Roger was absent from his corner...
Against Sharmba Mitchell, Roger told Floyd, hit that muthafuka with a right to the body... Won him the fight!!
Against both Oscar and Castillo, Roger told Floyd that he had to start sitting down on his punches and stop going to the ropes because he was giving the impression that the other guy was doing something... Won him the fight!!
Told him that Zab was scared to fight and to keep pressing the attack and Zab would fold... That's exactly what happened!!
I can't remember all the other instances where Roger told him to use the pull counter or the jab to the body to set his stuff up BUT Floyd always listens to Roger (except in the Mosley and Corley fights when Roger told him to start walking the guy down and to start boxing after Floyd had been hit with big shots and Floyd didn't listen) and he always wins (obviously)!!
The Ortiz fight....he told him to keep "stepping to him" because he knew Ortiz couldn't fight on the backfoot. We all know how confused Ortiz looked and how he was struggling to cope with the version of Mayweather that took the middle of the ring...he obviously hadn't planned for it, he thought Floyd would fight on the backfoot all night!
i disagree that roger is a crap trainer. if nothing else, he'll keep gamboa in fighting shape and improve his defense. that is if they can understand each other.
Yep and Gamboa will get to work with Floyd Jnr and if he picks up some May moves and some May thinking rubs off , Gamboa will do just fine , good style for Roger to work with .
Same here, I don't know why Roger gets all the hate on this thread. When people say he does nothing in the corner and Floyd doesn't need a trainer is not true. When ever reporters ask Floyd about watching tapes he answers the same thing "I don't watch tapes, Roger watches tapes and comes out with a game plan. I just execute it"
I support this move actually.
Yuri's offensive arsenal is already complete, he's got every punch in the book to go with perfect timing and natural speed and reflexes; there's nothing to learn in that regard. He can however use some extra work defensively, I'm sure Roger and Floyd can help in that regard.
cool...Roger is my dude, my fav Mayweather of them all and it's really weird to see him get so much hate for very small comments....I mean, all Freddie Joke ass Roach says in the corner is.."uh uh put this son a ***** on his ass"..."your speed is too much for him"...thats it!!....like Jack "double jab" Lowe and Manny "I love TV" Steward....all overrated one trick pony trainers....Roger, Naz, Nacho, and Fritz Sdunek are G's at what they do...Garcia is on the come up, solid as well...dudes who understand german know Fritz knows his ish....listen to him in the Vit-Lewis fight....after Vit worked Lewis over in the 2nd round...he told Vit that Lewis was gonna come out fighting harder the next round because he HAD to....he didn't stroke Vits ego...he told him HELL awaited....and he was spot on!!
Roger's advice is usually simple with a touch of genius....like I said, I don't understand the hate he generates on here...maybe its his last name I guess!! :dunno:

"Gamboa don't know **** about boxing"!
If this is true Gamboa is being incredibly unprofessional with these recent events.
First, backing out of a fight that he asked for. Then, ditching his manager without telling him.
It's def unprofessional, and could prove stupid. Bob is litigous, and he won't care about destroying this guys career. He'd rather do that than not have him under the TR banner.
